Which Coolsculpting Machine Is Best?
There is only one FDA-approved CoolSculpting machine available. This machine has different size applicators, and each applicator will give better results on different parts of the body.
Your doctor will determine which applicator is best. (Daniel Shapiro, MD, Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon)
Zeltiq is the only cool sculpting machine that has been FDA cleared for “fat freezing”. The device has 3 different applicators that can be used on different sizes of adipose tissue “pockets”. (Tom J. Pousti, MD, FACS, San Diego Plastic Surgeon)
The term Coolsculpting is used only for the device manufactured by Zeltiq and freezes select areas of fat to help contour the body.
There are many body contouring devices out on the market but no other that utilizes this technology and none that we have found are as effective for localized areas of fat.
If it is specific areas of fat that are of concern to you and after a physical examination you are deemed a good candidate, then Zeltiq Coolsculpting is great way to go. (Grant Stevens, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)
There is only one CoolSculpting machine. It is FDA approved and made by Zeltiq. It has 3 attachments used for different parts of the body. The one for the abdomen is about twice the size as the small and medium ones.
So the hand pieces are used for the areas that are to be treated. (Joe Gryskiewicz, MD, FACS, Minneapolis Plastic Surgeon)
Coolsculpting by Zeltiq does use 3 different handpieces. 2 are smaller, with slightly different sizes which may fit certain patients and areas better, and 1 larger head for the abdomen which treats twice the area. The larger abdomen head is not for everybody.
It works best on a softer abdomen do to its narrow and long shape, and some patients do better with 2 cycles of the smaller heads (left and right abdomen) rather than the larger one to the entire abdomen.
I recommend finding a reputable center where the physician, not just technicians, are involved in the decision making process of whether CoolSculpting is right for you, and if so what heads and areas are best to treat. (Madeline Krauss, MD, Boston Dermatologic Surgeon)
Are there different CoolSculpting machines?
There is only one CoolSculpting machine. It is manufactured and distributed by a company called Zeltiq. There are other non-invasive fat reduction procedures which work on a different technology. Physicians providing CoolSculpting treatments have at their disposal three different applicators.
The choice of the applicator will be dictated by the size and the contour of the bulge you wish to have treated. This will be chosen at the time of your consultation once you have been examined. (Ted Brezel, MD, Long Island Dermatologic Surgeon)
There is only one device that does CoolSculpting
Zeltiq’s device is the only device that uses “Coolsculpting” (freezing fat) to reduce fat bulges. There are other devices that use radio frequency or laser light to reduce fat. The difference between these devices, besides the method of reduction, is that Coolsculptng by Zeltiq actually removes fat cells, as liposuction does (although not to the same degree and noninvasively, while Zerona, Velasmooth, Triactive and Endemology temporarily reduce fat by squeezing the fat out of the cells. (Lorrie Klein, MD, Laguna Niguel Dermatologic Surgeon)
Recently CoolSculpting released their new CoolAdvantage. This system allows for more of the area to be treated, in less time, and with less discomfort. If you are looking around it would be best to find a practice that is offering this new technology.
They should offer you a full body consult to determine the most effective treatment. (Janet Allenby, DO, Delray Beach Dermatologic Surgeon)
There is only one CoolSculpting machine available that is made by Zeltiq. CoolSculpting offers different applicators that vary based on the different areas treated. You clinician will be able to best determine which applicator will be ideal to use on particular areas of your body. (Steven H. Williams, MD, San Francisco Plastic Surgeon)
one machine – two devices, small (6) and large (8). which device is used has to do with which anatomic area your are applying the device, how small or large you are etc. (Eric Chang, MD, Baltimore Plastic Surgeon)
There is only one Coolsculpting machine. There are currently three different hand held applicators that attach to the main Coolsculpting device. The hand held applicators are different size and shape and are selected based upon your physician’s examination and recommendations. (Steven Hacker, MD, West Palm Beach Dermatologic Surgeon)
Zeltiq is the only company that has produced CoolSculpting. There is no other FDA-cleared fat freezing technology. The company may be eventually adding to the three currently-available applicators to allow physicians to treat different shaped sites. (Ronald Shelton, MD, Manhattan Dermatologic Surgeon)
Only Zeltiq can guarantee Coolsculpting safety and effectiveness
There is only one provider of Coolsculpting (Zeltiq) that can guarantee safety and effectiveness of the procedure. There are imposters out there, and I advise you stay clear of them. Zeltiq makes many shaped applicators that are designed to fit different areas of your body, and your Coolsculpting provider will determine which applicators will fit best on your body shape. (David P. Rapaport, MD, FACS, Manhattan Plastic Surgeon)
Differences in Coolsculpting Machines
Coolsculpting is a registered trademark from Zeltiq. These machines are more effective and safer from both the patient’s and provider’s standpoint then the imitators. (Kris M. Reddy, MD, FACS, West Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon)
Cool Sculpting devices
These machines are all produced by Zeltiq. If they are not from this company then they are not Cool Sculpting machines. There are many imitation devices on the market now. (Robert Whitfield, MD, FACS, Austin Plastic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting, Dual CoolSculpting. Zeltiq what’s the difference?
There is just one type of CoolSculpting machine. It is made by a company called Zeltiq. There re different sizes of handpieces for different areas of the body. It is true that in order for CoolSculpting to be effective the handpiece must fit the area securely.
Some practices use the term DualSculpting or Dual CoolSculpting to describe a treatment when two systems are used so that both love handles, muffin tops, or back rolls can be treated simultaneously. In my practice we do use two systems simultaneously.
We also offer vibrational therapy to stimulate the lymphatic system and compression garments to provide comfort. CoolSculpting iby Zeltiq is FDA approved for Fat elimination. if there are “knock off” brands, I am not aware of other devices FDA approved fro freezing fat at this time. (Michael Law, MD, Raleigh-Durham Plastic Surgeon)
