Which CoolSculpting Applicator To Treat Your Flanks?

The Cool Curve is the applicator generally used on the flanks. Each applicator treatment is about the size of your hand. Put your hand on the area you want treated. If that covers everything, one may be enough.

If the area you want treated is bigger than your hand, then, two applicators may be better. (Lauren Chavez, MD, Albuquerque Physician)

CoolSculpting Applicators

The type of applicator used depends on how it fits on you best. I have used both the curve as well as the core on people’s flanks before. I have also used the older applicators that take 1 hour per treatment since those are even curvier than the new curve.

It really depends on your body habitus. As for the number of applicators needed per flank, it again depends on your specific width. If the provider is experienced, they will know what is appropriate for you.

I have always found people to be happier when we meet their expectations and, in order, to do that 2 applicators may be needed. You should also see if they give discounts on a second session because every time you do CS you will get another 20-25% fat reduction.

Often, people’s expectations of what 1 session will do is actually what they get when they do 2 sessions. (Tianna Tsitsis, MD, Mount Vernon Physician)

The type, number and placement of applicators will vary depending on each individual patient, the specifics of which will be determined in the office during your assessment.

It is quite common to use overlapping handpiece placements (at separate sessions) in order to appropriately recruit tissues and treat different curves and high points.

Also, it is quite common to need more than one treatment (same location, same applicator) approx 6-8 weeks after the first treatment.

Number Of Coolsculpt Applicators For Flanks

That is because the CoolSculpting treatment results in a partial correction after each application. I think it is likely you would need 2 applications per flank separated by 6-8 weeks.

If your surgeon is so equipped, you can have both flanks treated at the same time.(Trefor Nodwell, MD, Ottawa Plastic Surgeon)

I think for your flanks/love handle area you would benefit from only using 1 cooladvantage applicator on each flank. A lot of patients need 2 on each flank, but they have more love handle fat than you appear too. (Reps B. Sundin, MD, Washington DC Plastic Surgeon)

We usually use the Curve applicator for the love handles, and the placement should be planned in person. (Reza Momeni, MD FACS, Summit Plastic Surgeon)

Without seeing you in person it’s really a guess. I would think one cool advantage (curved) applicator for each side. So that would mean two applicators for each treatment of your flanks.

The Cool Curve Would Be Used To Treat The Flanks

You should see reduction with one treatment but may get additional benefit from a second treatment after 10 wks. (John Bergeron, MD, Houston Physician)

It appears that you would be a candidate for a coolcurve. I would probably start with one on each side. Coolsculpting is an excellent procedure if a physician is involved throughout the process to ensure quality and proper treatment. (Kris M. Reddy, MD, FACS, West Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon)

CoolSculpting: Which applicator is right for me?

Based on a long history of treatments at Imagine Body Sculpting Centers, the likely applicator for you would be the CoolAdvantage Pro with the Cool Curve contour.

Typically, CoolCurve Is Used For The Flanks

All CoolSculpting treatments are best planned doing an in-person assessment with a specialist who can make the best recommendation based on your specific body type.

Based on the amount of volume and the curvature of your flanks, you may need one applicator per side, or 2 overlapping to get the best coverage and the best result. (Vincent Marino, MD, Scottsdale Physician)

Fortunately, there are a variety of devices that can be used on the flanks, so it can be very personalized. If you are interested in DualSculpting, or two treatments at one, you might consider having a flank treated on one side and abdomen on the other.

That way you are not distorting the anatomy. Then switch. (Lillian Schapiro, MD, Atlanta OB-GYN)

Based on the amount of tissue and fat, the flanks can be done as 1-2 applications per side per treatment session. It all depends on how you’re shaped and the treatment plan configured specifically for you. (Deborah Pan, MD, New Haven Plastic Surgeon)
