When Can I Have Coolsculpting Again?
Repeated CoolSculpting Zeltiq treatments
In the last year we have been treating more patients with repeated CoolSculpting per site as we see continued improvement.
Typically we had suggested waiting every three months when we first offered Zeltiq but now we have our patients waiting at least two months between treatments, and two to three treatments is not uncommon. (Ronald Shelton, MD, Manhattan Dermatologic Surgeon)
Retreat an area with CoolSculpting
It is optimal to wait 12-16 weeks for the second treatment so that you can be sure that you have seen the full results from the first treatment.

It takes 60-90 days to see results from one CoolSculpting treatment. It is recommended that the same area not be re-treated for at least 60 days.

When Can I Have Coolsculpting Again?
What we have noticed from performing hundreds of treatments is that the optimal time to do your second treatment is between 2-3 months.
What we do is we have our patients return in that time period for after photos and to assess whether they need a second treatment.
Many of our patients are pleasantly surprised that they find they are so happy with one treatment in a given area, they don’t need another one!
What they do I find is that once one area looks great, they want to work on other areas.

Repeat Coolsculpting?

According to the Continuing Medical Education (CME) training provided by the company, Dr. Anderson clearly states that there is no harm in cooling the same area for more than one cycle on the same day.
This can be necessary during “pop-offs” should the patient move or jar the device applicator. Based on the physiology, it is optimal to wait the full 2-3 months before your next treatment.

Because Cool Sculpting is a non-invasive procedure which triggers a natural cell death process it can take 2-4 months to see optimal results. I have my patients wait at least 2 months before having an additional treatment, but have recently started advising a full 4 months because I was seeing more changes with the additional time.

Optimal time to retreat an area with CoolSculpting
It is true that additional far reduction can be achieved by repeating CoolSculpting treatments but unlike other non-invasive fat removal procedures, one does not necessarily need to perform the treatment more than once in order to see fat reduction.
Because the full effects of CoolSculpting will be not be seen until the second to fourth month after the treatment it would seem prudent to wait at least four months before retreating the same area.
