Under Arm Skin After Coolsculpting

CoolSculpting will take care of the unwanted fat but if there is lax skin, one of the RF skin tight devices will do better such as the Thermi 250, the EndyMed 3Deep, or the Venus Legacy. See an expert and you should do just fine. (Michael Gold, MD, Nashville Dermatologic Surgeon)

CoolSculpting only targets the fat cells. That’s why it’s important to talk about what your true expectations are.

If you want the fat to be gone and the skin to look better than CoolSculpting is not the option for you.

There are other options like Pro-Lipo or Laser Lipo and/or Brachioplasty. (Robert G. Aycock, MD, FACS, Bay Area Plastic Surgeon)

Cool Petite applicator

Zeltiq just released the Cool Petite applicator for the arms specifically designed for fat pockets on the upper arms.

As Women Age Our Upper Arms Attract Fat Like A Magnet

Coolsculpting has been done on the upper arms with the CoolAdvantage applicators previously but the Petite applicator is proportioned to fit the area better.

Underk Arm Skin After Coolsculpting

We all hate the hanging skin and fat under the arms. That is, to get excellent results we want to 1) get rid of the fat, and 2) tighten the skin.

Treatments such CoolSculpting are effective at reducing the fat. We see some skin tightening with the procedure, but it is variable between patients.

The same can be said about SculpSure and liposuction. Various laser treatments can help with skin tightening, but won’t reduce the fat.
Surgical options will reduce the fat and tighten the skin but will leave a large scar.

Bottom line: There are pros and cons to each option, with none being the definitive choice. You will need to sit down and talk with one or several physicians to help decide what is the best option for you. (Jeff Birchall, MD, Carlsbad Physician)

Coolsculpting and excess skin

Coolsculpting can reduce the amount of fat under the skin, but for the most part, it won’t tighten the overlying skin. If you have a significant amount of excess skin, then surgery is most likely your best option.

Coolsculpting can reduce the fat, but only surgery can reduce as much excess skin as you desire. If you want to avoid surgery, then something like ThermiTight or even something as easy as a Halo laser treatment can tighten the skin.

Coolsculpting Fat Reduction Arms

Quintessa Aesthetic Centers have had the Halo laser for over two years now and have seen some rather impressive results with skin tightening of the face, neck, chest, arms and even the knees. (Andrew Campbell, MD, Milwaukee Facial Plastic Surgeon)

CoolScuplting targets the fat in the area it is treating and does not tighten the skin. Therefore, you may need to have a skin tightening procedure after the CoolSculpting to target the skin laxity, such as Thermage.

I would recommend you make a consult with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to go over all your options to see what procedures you would be a good candidate for. (Lenore Sikorski, MD, Orange County Dermatologist)

CoolSculpting has minimal if any effects on loose skin. It will not, however, make your loose skin any worse. The arms are a little bit different, though. If you have more loose skin than fat on your arms then CoolSculpting may not be an appropriate option for you.

Fat Hanging There Or Just Relaxed Muscle

A treatment like ThermiTight may be better. If you have a lot of loose skin then surgery may be your best option. Make sure you find an experienced provider who has multiple treatment options available. (Michael A. Zadeh, MD, FACS, Sherman Oaks General Surgeon)

What happens to loose skin with Coolsculpting

There is some reports that loose skin is also improved with Coolsculpting. However, better treatment for this area might be Thermitight. It can destroy both the fat and tighten the skin in one procedure. It can do this more accurately as well. (Steven F. Weiner, MD, Panama City Facial Plastic Surgeon)

Coolsculpting may help

Coolsculpting is a fat reduction modality and is not marketed as a skin tightening device. That being said, may patients do notice some skin tightening after the treatment. Without seeing you in person, it’s very difficult to tell exactly what you might be able to expect from coolsculpting alone.

If you have lots of loose skin then you might need a surgery called a brachioplasty to remove some of that excess skin. The important thing is to see a doctor who is able to provide you with all of your options for treatment of that area. (David A. Sieber, MD, San Francisco Physician)

The best results for this kind of problem can be achieved with Bodytite -Radio Frequency Assisted Liposuction which is typically performed under local anesthesia in the office.

Retracts skin up to 40% and has excellent results in arms without the need for a brachioplasty. (Spero Theodorou, MD, New York Physician)

Loose Skin Solutions

Coolsculpting won’t deal with the loose skin. I recommend a formal evaluation with a body contouring specialist. (Jason Emer, MD, Los Angeles Dermatologic Surgeon)
