Timing Of Second CoolSculpting

The second CoolSculpting treatment can be performed as soon as any swelling has subsided fully, so that the cold is able to affect as many fat cells as possible.

The only reason to wait three to four months is if you and your physician think you may only need one treatment for a good result.

Although I am not recommending it, I know of some patients who even had a second treatment on the same day with great results and no side effects. (Sheryl D. Clark, MD, New York Dermatologist)

Second Treatment of CoolSculpting

You can do your second CoolSculpting treatment as soon as 30 days after the first treatment (on the same area). (Jeffrey M. Hartog, DMD, MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)

Coolsculpting intervals

If a second session is performed on the body it could be done 4 months after the first , not 4 weeks.

There may have been some miscommunication and I would check to make sure it was 4 months instead of weeks.

The protocol for neck /submental treatments is usually 6 weeks after the first session , so if this was your intended treatment area, then 4 weeks later is appropriate . (Drew Varano, MD, Washington DC Physician)

Coolsculpting Results and Time of Procedure — Add Vanquish/Cellutone For Improvement

we find that adding vanquish speeds up and gives more improvement, you can do another treatment as soon as 3-6 weeks after the first. (Jason Emer, MD, Los Angeles Dermatologic Surgeon)

Second CS treatments timed after full effect of first CS treatment

I routinely request the patient to wait 8-12 weeks before the next sessions in the same areas to allow them to get maximum effect from the first session.

This time frame allows the majority of swelling/inflammation to subside and all the frozen fat cells to be cleared out.

This also gives time to exercise and/or lose weight to maximize your results. Consider speaking with other CS patients from that provider or looking at pics of patients treated again at different intervals. (Vaishali B. Doolabh, MD, FACS, Jacksonville Plastic Surgeon)

How long should I wait before my second Coolsculpting treatment?

You should wait at least a month before a second procedure. If, based on your preop evaluation, you will definitely need a second procedure there is no reason not to proceed at a month.

If you are unsure you may wait another 1-2 months to get to your final months and then decide if you need another.

Note that there is no reason not to wait- you don’t want a second treatment too soon but there is no “window of opportunity” to lose if you wait longer than three months. (Karl Hekimian, MD, Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon)

COOLSCULPTING NJ

At our state of the art facility, we typically wait 3 months to retreat a patient. For patients who know they will need a second treatment and do not want to wait the 3 months we will then retreat after 1 month.

I would say it’s safe to have the second treatment 1 month after. Most patients want to see the transformation after the first treatment, which is why we wait. (Jeffrey B. Wise, MD, FACS, Wayne Facial Plastic Surgeon)

CoolSculpting Retreatment

You need to have at least two treatments completed one month apart to see true results. In most patients true results will not be seen until 2-3 months after the second treatment. (Gregory DeLange, MD, Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon)

Multiple treatments with Coolsculpting

Every body is different and some may require multiple treatments to achieve optimal results. In my experience, treating 30 days (or 4 weeks) apart is very beneficial. When I know a patient needs multiple treatments, I also tell them to treat again at the 30 day mark to maximize the results in the quickest way.

With summer right around the corner, why wait when you know you will need it? A general idea that my office uses, is that if you can pinch more than 3 inches then you will probably need a second treatment. (Amy Brenner, MD, Cincinnati OB-GYN)

This can depend on the area of treatment. It is common to schedule a second treatment for the chin area sooner. In most cases everyone will need that second treatment. It can also depend on what shape your in.

If the doctor knows that you will need more than one treatment she may be trying to speed up the process. However you shouldn’t do anything that you are uncomfortable with. Just have a thorough discussion with your doctor about your concerns, and their approach. (Janet Allenby, DO, Delray Beach Dermatologic Surgeon)

When should I do my second coolsculpting?

The peak result of your first treatment of a given area is in 2 months. However, there is no medical contraindication to getting a second one in one month. Many patients are on a time frame to get to a certain look so we are flexible with scheduling for a second of a treated area of between 1-2 months. (Grace Liu, MD, Newport Beach Dermatologic Surgeon)

Typically you will not necessarily want to do it for another for weeks. The final result with curved applicators is appreciated no later than 3 months typically. (Robert Whitfield, MD, FACS, Austin Plastic Surgeon)
