Scott Tucker, MD

Name: Scott Tucker, MD
Statement: Dr. Scott Tucker is a board-certified plastic surgeon and president of Salem Plastic Surgery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A RealSelf Top Doctor, Dr. Tucker specializes in cosmetic and restorative procedures of the face, breast, and body.

Dr. Tucker knew from childhood that he wanted to be a doctor and became fascinated with surgery in medical school. He ultimately chose plastic surgery because “the profession affords me the opportunity to do what I love most—perform surgery and care for my patients. The creative aspect of working with each individual patient, whether reconstruction or aesthetic, combines my artistic nature with the opportunity to practice great medicine,” he says.

Dr. Tucker often jokes that he “graduated from the 27th grade” because that’s how many years he was in school to become a plastic surgeon. He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed six years of residency training: four years in general surgery and two years in plastic surgery at Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education at Wake Forest University. He also completed a fellowship in cleft palate and burn reconstruction at the University of Southern California–affiliated Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center.

Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Tucker is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. does Emsculpt work on tightening up bra roll / back fat?
does Emsculpt work on tightening up bra roll / back fat?

Hi.  I think that Emsculpt is great technology for what it is designed for as a noninvasive treatment for other areas.  For the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms and other areas I think it can give nice results as a noninvasive treatment.  I would not recommend it however for the bra roll areas.  In my practice SmartLipo is my go to procedure for bra roll’s.  I do liposuction with that but am aiming to get additional skin tightening with the SmartLipo technology, which is a key component of wh…

Hi. I would certainly consider Emsculpt to help tone your abdomen and glutes.   The lack of downtime will likely also serve you well.  Good luck and take care,Dr. Howell

Hi. In general, yes, you should be able to do Emsculpt after a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty.   It may further enhance your result.   It would be good to check with your plastic surgeon first though.  Good luck and take care, Dr. Howell
I want to get emsculpt on my lower abdominal pouch. Where should the emsculpt paddles be placed?
I want to get emsculpt on my lower abdominal pouch. Where should the emsculpt paddles be placed?
Nov 13, 2019
Hi.  Depending on your anatomy, you may be able to have 2 paddles placed side-by-side and those would likely end up stimulating both the rectus muscles as well as the oblique muscles.  I would recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to help guide you through this process.
Good luck and take care, Dr. Howell
Is there any contraindication to having Emsculpt post muscle repair and hernia repair?
Shouldn’t matter
Oct 15, 2019
The biggest contraindication to EMSculpt is having metal in the area being treated. Since this is electromagnetic it could dislodge the devise. As long as your hernia has not recurred you should be fine with EMSculpt.
Happy Toning,
Dr. T
