Best option for stress incontinence. Would Geneveve Treatment/Viveve work for me?
SUI
Dec 13, 2018
It does sound like you would be a good candidate for the Viveve procedure. We are seeing significant improvement in bladder control in our patients who have had the Viveve procedure. "I can jump on the trampoline again!" is a frequent response. This technology is different from the other devices on the market, due to the radiofrequency heating and cooling affect on the tissue. This allows cooling of the vaginal mucosa (tissue), but a deeper penetration of heat into...
If I stop taking Spironolactone, is it possible that my hormonal acne will come back? Please help
Acne
Dec 12, 2018
Your acne will not necessarily come back worse if you stop the Spironolactone, although it may return. Spironoloactone is actually a mild diuretic (water pill) which also blocks androgens (such as testosterone) at the follicle. I use this medication quite a bit for help with acne, as well as unwanted facial hair. In addition, there are typically no side effects to be concerned about. Hope this helps!
is it dangerous to have CoolSculpting if you have osteoporosis?
Cool Sculpting
Dec 3, 2018
It is not dangerous to have Cool Sculpting performed if you have Osteoporosis. The technology for Cool Sculpting targets the fat cells only, so there is no danger or effect to the skin, blood vessels, nerves or deeper tissues such as bone. Hope this helps!
I gained three pounds after CoolSculpting. Is this normal?
Weight gain
Apr 19, 2018
It is no uncommon for patients to TEMPORARILY gain a small amount of weight following the CoolSculpting procedure. This is related to a small amount of water retention during the healing process, but should resolve in a short timeframe. Dr. K
With CoolSculpting, if fat cells leave your body over time, will you be more likely to absorb fat
Fat Stores
Nov 6, 2017
Good question. CoolSculpting permanently removes fat cells in the treated area. If weight gain occurs, the remaining cells in that area can get larger, but will not multiply. Fat cells in other areas of the body can also get larger, but not substantially more just because another area was treated. Hope this helps!
I want to know if CoolSculpting would damage my kidney through the fat elimination process?
Fat Elimination
Oct 30, 2017
Cool Sculpting will not damage your kidney. The fat cells that are destroyed are taken out by macrophages in the blood stream. Macrophages are like "scavengers" which remove cellular debris and foreign particles in the system. Therefore, no harmful effects occur to other organs in the body.
How soon before next CoolSculpting session? Less than a month apart too soon?
Retreatment
Oct 21, 2017
We usually recommend waiting 3 months between treatments, in order to allow for the maximum effect of the lipolysis. That is the way the cells die and then are removed via macrophages in the blood stream. I am sure that the location where you had your first treatment would work with you, so you could go ahead and purchase more cycles to be used in the future. Hope this helps!
Would I be considered a good candidate for CoolSculpting?
Pooch
Oct 21, 2017
Thank you for your question. A very good one, and common for those interested in this procedure. Looking at your pictures, it appears that you would likely need 2 treatment sessions to achieve optimal results. I believe you are an excellent candidate for this treatment. Best of luck to you!
Is Geneveve helpful for urinary incontenece?
Urinary Incontinence
Oct 4, 2017
The prospect for treatment of urinary incontinence is very exciting and promising with Geneveve! Clinical trials are underway, and the data is preliminary, however, the results are very impressive. In a small study of 10 women, over 80% of the patients showed significant improvement in stress urinary incontinence during the first six (6) months of the trial, with no reported serious adverse events! I see this in my practice as well, with a significant improvement in both...
Can Coolsculpting be used on the back of thighs, just below buttocks?
Banana Roll
Oct 4, 2017
Yes--CoolSculpting can be used for this area of concern. It is frequently referred to as the "banana roll." CoolSculpting uses technology that targets and freezes adipocytes, or fat cells. These fat cells die after being frozen and are removed through the bloodstream. The fat cells are permanently removed, with approximately 20 - 25% of the cells removed at each treatment. The banana roll area most frequently can be addressed in one session. CoolSculpting...
How does the Geneveve vaginal rejuvenation procedure work and what symptoms does it treat?
Vaginal Rejuvenation/Restoration
Oct 4, 2017
Geneveve is a revolutionary new treatment that stimulates collagen production in the vaginal area. It is different technology than other devices in the market, as it penetrates the tissues deeper and is only a one-time treatment. The technique uses radiofrequency heating and cooling which penetrates the vaginal tissues to stimulate collagen production. Collagen provides support for tissues throughout our body. Geneveve treatment results in a significant...
Does Cool contouring help flatten your stomach?
Flat Abs
Sep 28, 2017
CoolSculpting is a great way to target problem areas. We have treated several patients, including myself, who struggle with an area they cannot get rid of with diet, exercise, etc. It permanently removes the fat cells in the treated area, with results seen in 1-3 months. CoolSculpting can easily and painlessly contour and sculpt your abdomen.
What is Viveve?
Viveve
Sep 27, 2017
Geneveve is a device produced by the company Viveve which uses radiofrequency heating and cooling technology to stimulate collagen production in the vaginal tissues. The increase in collagen production results in significant improvement in vaginal tone/tightening, lubrication, and sexual sensation, as well as improvement in bladder leakage and frequency. It is a painless, one-time in-office treatment which takes approximately 30 minutes, with results seen in 1-3 mos. It...
I had a tummy tuck 3 years ago and I have some weight gain in my belly.
Body Sculpting
Sep 13, 2017
Cool Sculpting can significantly reduce the fat if it can be pinched. It is a non-painful way to permanently remove fat cells, without downtime or surgery. It really can "sculpt" you body where weight loss and exercise don't seem to help. Consult a Cool Sculpting provider near you, as they usually offer free consultations. Hope this helps!
How is fat freezing performed and does it burn the skin?
Cryolipolosis
Aug 7, 2017
Cryolipolosis is the process which Cool Sculpting uses to target fat cells without harming other tissues. The temperature that Cool Sculpting reaches targets the fat cells only, sparing nerves, muscles, etc., which are affected by colder temperatures. The gel pad which is placed over the skin protects the skin from being damaged. The treated area will feel numb for a few weeks following the procedure, but it is not a permanent feeling. Hope this information helps!
