Is it a bad idea to do a hair transplant surgery at an early age? What can I do to prevent further hair l
Hair Loss

Dear 22,
You are very young for a hair transplant. It is very unfortunate that you already have hair loss at age 22. An important part of hair transplantation is planning for the future. If you use 2000-4000 hairs to strengthen your current hair line, you may have further loss and insufficient donor hair in the future. Also, if you reinforce a younger hair line, this will look unnatural when you are 40 or 50.
At this time, I would recommend consulting with your…
Would CoolSculpting be safe if you have urticarial vasculitis?
Sjogrens
Nov 19, 2018
Hi, CoolSculpting is usually a safe procedure, however there is a concern about increased risk of complications in patients with autoimmune diseases, more specific cold agglutinins. The cold treatment from cool sculpting may correlate to a high risk of hyperplasia or even necrosis. I would not recommend taking the risk is you have an autoimmune disorder – as Sjogrens can be associated with a small increased presence of cold agglutinins.

If the laser treatment was done properly, the visible follicles that were treated would be destroyed by the laser. These hair would likely not recover. However often we do have hairs in typically in a dormant stage which are not visible and therefore not susceptible to the laser. This is why, for hair removal we recommend repeat treatment in about 6 weeks.
So in a few weeks, you may get some regrowth of the hair that was in a different cycle at the time of the…
Please advise on how to proceed after a reaction to local anesthetic while attempting a hair transplant t
Reaction

What type of anesthesia was used? For our hair transplants for FUE, we use mainly lidocaine and marcaine as a local anesthesic. There is a possibility of lidocaine toxicity with excess dosage – often over 300 mg (or 500 mg when mixed with epi.) Symptoms of lidocaine toxicity include perioral numbness, facial tingling, restlessness, vertigo, tinnitus, slurred speech, and in severe cases seizure. You can also get ECG changes at high doses. I would discuss further anesthetics…
How to get rid of black dots on my legs?
Dots
Nov 19, 2018
If there is a hair underneath, these are hair follicles. In this case, laser hair removal treatment would address this issue. The dark spots will absorb the light from the laser, with goof results. At times 2-6 treatments may be necessary to remove all the underlying follicles.
Shaving and exfoliating can cause more irritation to the area. I would recommend laser hair treatment.
Do you suggest PRP or transplant for the scar on my head?
Scar
Nov 19, 2018
If the scar is concerning to you, I would recommend a hair transplant. Micro-pigmentation can also help cover the area and would make it much less noticeable. If you want hair to cover the area, the main treatment would be transplant. PRP injections would not result in meaningful hair growth within he scar. It would increase fullness in the hair around the scar, but not the scar itself.
At temple area and Hairline area i feel infected. It started from 2 days. What should I do?
Infection
Nov 19, 2018
If you have tenderness, redness and are concerned with an infection, I would follow up with the surgeon to check the area. Often Minoxidil can cause skin irritation, dryness and itching. If the minoxidil is a new treatment, I would stop it for now and discuss this also with your surgeon.
Will these grafts create dense stubble to cover a surgical scar?
Coverge
Nov 19, 2018
It does appear that the surgical scar will be covered by the transplanted hair. It will take 4-6 months however for the newly implanted follicles to start to grow. Best wishes –

Jasmine321, It appears that the skin did not tighten significantly after the fat was reduced. You may have lost a significant amount of weight overall. I do have patients with a lot of excess skin after a large weight loss.
If the area is soft, it is not likely PAH. It is more likely due to skin laxity. The best treatment for this likely would be to see a plastic surgeon to remove the excess skin and tighten the area. I wish you the best of luck.
Is my hair fall due to laser treatment or my age?
Hair Loss
Oct 1, 2018
In your case, the likely cause of hair loss is due to iron deficiency. The laser should not cause hair loss. I have found that even mild levels of iron deficiency can lead to diffuse thinning. Stressful events and dietary changes (such as becoming vegan, dieting, etc.) can also contribute to hair loss. Telogen Effluvium is common where there can be an increase number of hair follicles in the resting non growth stage of the hair cycle. In which case, it will typically…
