How Many Inches Do You Lose With Coolsculpting?
Typically, CoolSculpting results are not described in inches but in percentage of fat cell loss. With a single treatment, normally 20-25% of the fat cells in the treated area will be destroyed. (Michael I. Echavez, MD, San Francisco Facial Plastic Surgeon)
How much fat will you loose with CoolSculpting?
Typically patients loose 25% of their fat cells per treatment. (Martin Jugenburg, MD, Toronto Plastic Surgeon)
Will there be any weight loss or lose any inches with cool sculpting?
With proper dieting and exercising along with coolsculpting you can definitely possible to lose inches and weight. It is hard to predict exactly how much, it varies from patient to patient. (Michael E. Ciaravino, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Coolsculpting results
During the consultation I ask the patients to describe their areas of concern and we discuss each of the areas as to whether Coolsculpting can help as well as other options. If I am talking inches, then it is usually as a function of how much fatty tissue I am pinching in the area of concern.
If I pinch 1-1.5 inches, then I might tell them to expect a quarter to one third of an inch reduction with one treatment.
As far as pant size, I tell them to more they do of a circumferential treatment (e.g. lower abdomen, flanks, lower back), the more they will see their clothes fitting comfortably or downsizing in the belt region. (Young R. Cho, MD, PhD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Weight loss with CS
There is usually no weight loss as the fat being treated by CS is very fluffy and light. My patient’s have lost inches though. (Sheila S. Nazarian, MD, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)
Coolsculpting and weight loss
I would not recommend doing Coolsculpting for weight loss. However, you may notice a upwards of a 1 pound weight loss if you are doing six large applicator treatments. More importantly, however, is that you should be seeing a considerable difference after your treatment in terms of inches.
This does depend largely on your physical exam before your procedure and assuming that recommended treatment is the best one for you. (Young R. Cho, MD, PhD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting: When Will I see Results?
Generally speaking, post treatment swelling generally lasts from 2-3 weeks, and numbness may last up to a few months, getting less and less until back to normal. Typically, the results of CoolSculpting may rarely be noticed at the 4 week mark, usually it takes 3-4 months to really notice a result.
Also, keep in mind that it takes most patients a minimum of 2 treatments to get a great result. The results of the first treatment are usually felt, and the results of the second are usually seen. (Edward Stokes, MD, West Hollywood Physician)
No drastic changes 4 weeks after CoolSculpting
It can take as long as 12 weeks to see the full effects from a CoolSculpting treatment, so it is not unusual that you would not see any changes after 4 weeks. The amount of time the numbness lasts can vary, but in some instances, it may be as long as 8 weeks.
Additionally, it sometimes takes more than one treatment session to obtain the desired result. (Michael I. Echavez, MD, San Francisco Facial Plastic Surgeon)
We tell our patients that they should expect to see some results starting about 30 days after the procedure. Also, the numbness and tingling should disappear completely within this time-frame as well.
We also tell our patients initially that since you loose about 20-25% of fat from a given treatment, results will be significantly improved with a second treatment, and that most patients will benefit from a second treatment. Results tend to improve over a 3 month time-frame. (William Greenberg, MD, New York Physician)
It takes time
I tell my patients that you wont start to see any results for 4 weeks. The numbness should start to fade at this point, it may be another 2 weeks. Each patient is different. Results can start to be seen at 4 weeks and improve over the next 8 weeks.
Your final result will be 3 months post Coolsculpt. (Ayman Hakki, MD, Waldorf Plastic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting takes 3-4 months to see optimum results. The swelling can last up to a month and the numbness sometimes longer. If you are concerned it is best to reach out to your provider.
We have found that because CoolSculpting provides results over a length of time, many patients don’t realize how dramatic their results are until the see their before and afters. Make sure to remain in communication with your physician to track the progress of your results. (Janet Allenby, DO, Delray Beach Dermatologic Surgeon)
The Results are Slow and Gradual
The treatment works – no question! But, it’s a slow, subtle reduction, that gets better with time and more treatments. With your swelling, that would make it far less likely you’d notice results, even if they are there. (Lauren Chavez, MD, Albuquerque Physician)
All that is expected after coolsculpting – feeling swollen and some numbness. It will all get better over time and the results should start showing up by week 8. (Ramandeep Sidhu, MD, Issaquah Vascular Surgeon)
CoolSculpting for hips (flank / love handles / muffin tops)
CoolSculpting is a tried and true method to remove small bulges of fat non-surgically. If you use CoolSculpting to the max, you may achieve a small liposuction like result called “Treat to Transformation.”
This technique takes many sessions and many hours of your time if you are not a surgical candidate due to illness or no desire for surgery for example. You may consider surgical liposuction which does have OTHER side-effects, risks and complications which are diminished by consulting a well experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon but provides many advantages too.
You should consider:
- surgical liposuction to achieve a smoother, larger area contour if medically cleared for surgery by your primary care physician.
- lifestyle changes including diet and exercise to manage and optimize the results of CoolSculpting or Surgical Liposuction. (Dean P. Kane, MD, FACS, Baltimore Plastic Surgeon)
