Best Way to Get Rid of Smoker Lines on Upper Lip?
Fillers for Lip Lines
Jan 17, 2019
I highly recommend that you quit smoking to protect your health. That said, starting early with regular  Botox injections (very small amount) to treat smoker lines can be very helpful.  Botox relaxes the “pursing” muscles that contribute to  deepening of the lines.  Iinjectable hyaluronic acid filler such as Restylane, Juvederm, Volbella or Belotero further help by filling the lines.  Periodic noninvasive laser treatments can further soften etched in lines and stimulate collagen.  Regular u…
Juvederm vs Restylane
Restylane vs. Juvederm
Nov 7, 2018
Both Juvederm and Restylane each have different advantages depending on the type of treatment. They are both hyaluronic acid fillers, but have different physical properties. One may work better under the eyes where as another may work better as a lip filler. Each will last approximately six months, but this does vary for each patient. If you consult with an expert injector physician, they will be able to choose the one they feel is best for you.

Botox and Brow Lifting
Aug 23, 2018
Thank you for your question. Botox may be able to temporarily improve the appearance by lifting the central brows. However, there are skin tightening treatments such as ThermiSmooth which can also help temporarily tighten brows. But when heredity has dealt heavy upper eye lids, it’s common for people to have upper eyelid surgery around age forty. Surgery can give a much better and longer lasting outcome.
Laser Treatment for Spider Veins on Nose?
Laser Treatments for Spider Veins on the Nose
May 7, 2018
In addition to IPL treatment, there are several lasers which may work to address blood vessels on the face. For example, the V-Beam pulsed dye laser and Alexandrite lasers can treat spider veins. Each laser device has a different wavelength, platform and delivery method. The best course of treatment can be determined after an in person consultation. The Cutera XLV Laser also has a 532 nm wavelength that is very helpful with facial spider veins.  Keep in mind that nasal blood vessels are am…
Am I a candidate for fillers?
Starting sooner rather than later works best for most people
Dec 19, 2017
Your face looks great, but that subtle sagging that is contributing to your marionette lines becoming noticeable can be improved in a natural-appearing way with fillers.  Supporting your cheeks with a hyaluronic acid filler like Voluma , Restylane Defyne , or Restylane Lyft can give your face a more youthful contour.  A filler like Vollure or Restylane Refyne in the marionette lines themselves will help your face look refreshed.  Don’t expect your friends to say “what did you have done?” but…
How much would mole removal on my chin cost? Would it be worth removing it given the risk of scarrin
Shave removal of mole may still scar; consider Botox to minimize the appearance
Dec 19, 2017
Even a shave removal may leave a slightly indented scar on the outwardly curved part of your chin.  Since the mole shows more when you are tensing the chin muscle (mentalis), I would consider injecting a very small amount (3-5 units) of a neuromodulator like Botox into the mentalis muscle to keep the chin more smooth.  Cost of that would be less than $200, and there’s no risk of scarring.
Active FX Side Effects and Risks
ActiveFX Side Effects and Risks
Nov 13, 2017
If performed properly for your skin by a board certified specialist in dermatology or plastic surgery, ActiveFX has a very low risk profile. The risk is much higher if the procedure is performed by a physician that is not properly trained to customize the treatment for your skin and use the appropriate energy settings. I strongly recommend that a board certified dermatologist with extensive experience in laser skin treatments perform your procedure. The laser procedure does carry some small…
IPL or Fraxel for uneven skin tone?
Fraxel 1927 will accomplish more results with evening out skin faster than IPL’s
Sep 14, 2017
While the Fraxel 1927 laser treatment has recovery of about 5 days of a slightly sunburned appearance with a gritty feel to the skin, the skin will usually look significantly brighter and more even-toned, even after the first treatment.  It also has more of a collagen-stimulating effect for the slight acne scarring it looks like you have, from the photos.  We have many years of experience with both treatments.  Both IPL and Fraxel work best as a series of treatments; with IPL you would pr…
Can I get Botox after having taken Tetralysal for cystic acne?
Botox and Tetralysal
Sep 13, 2017
I recommend a consultation with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon for your Botox treatment so that the injection can be performed by someone qualified with proper technique. However, based on the information you have provided, your known risks of adverse side effects from Botox treatment should not be changed by the acne treatment.
What Facial Areas Does Juvederm Treat?
Juvederm Fillers
Jul 3, 2017
Juvederm has a collection of dermal fillers FDA-approved for specific areas of the face. Juvederm Voluma adds volume to lift and contour the cheek area, resulting in a younger, fresher appearance. Juvederm XC and Juvederm Vollure are used to smooth moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles with results from Juvederm XC lasting up to a year and Vollure lasting up to 18 months. Juvederm Ultra is injected into the lips to add fullness for a plumper pout, while Juvederm Volbella subtly…
Had botox for crows feet. Was injection done too far and low on cheek? What will happen? Concerned a
Botox a little low on cheek UT unlikely to drop mouth
Jun 28, 2017
Hopefully the amount of Botox injected was very small and won’t do that.  Give it a week or two and then go back the the (hopefully, physician). We suggest board-certified cosmetically experienced dermatologists.
What’s the best treatment for neck wrinkles and excess skin ? Preferably less invasive.
What’s the Best Treatment for Wrinkly Neck? Exilis Laser Reduces Wrinkles and Tightens Skin
Jun 26, 2017
The neck is a difficult area to treat because the skin is so thin and quickly loses elasticity. The Exilis laser can improve your neck and jowls by tightening the skin by heating the deep tissue with radiofrequency (RF) energy. This process also stimulates the production of new collagen to renew your skin and smooth out fine wrinkles. The wrinkles on your neck, however, are quite deep and may require chemical peels and other treatments to even them out. But the sagging, the jowling, and the…
Am I candidate for Kybella? If so, how many vials would it take?
How Many Vials of Kybella? Two Vials Per Session Is Normal; Two or More Sessions Are Best
Jun 26, 2017
While it is possible to administer up to five vials of Kybella in one session, I like to limit it to just two to reduce the chances of bruising and swelling. You only have a little bit of submental fat, so I would think that two sessions of Kybella with two vials each time would probably be sufficient. Kybella also helps to tighten the skin, so you won’t need to worry about sagging after your procedure. Please see a board-certified dermatologist to find out if you are a candidate for Kybella.
Can vanquish work on thin layers of fat?
Can Vanquish Work on Thin Layers of Fat? Vanquish Can Smooth Out Lipo
Jun 26, 2017
It’s actually a good idea to follow-up a liposuction with Vanquish, as it seems to be able to create a more uniform result. Because the Vanquish device never touches your skin, it doesn’t need a significant layer of fat to make a difference. You should wait until you’ve healed from your liposuction; 3 months should be plenty, providing you still you feel like you need it. Please see a board-certified dermatologist to find out if Vanquish is the right choice to put the finishing touches on…
Can I get permanent fuller lips?
Can I Get Permanent Fuller Lips? Get Semi-Permanent Fuller Lips With Juvederm, Volbella, Restylane (HA Fillers)
Jun 26, 2017
The most beautiful and natural looking lip augmentations come from working with an expert injector who can use hyaluronic-acid based fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane Silk and Volbella to give your lips more shape and volume. Volbella can last up to 18 months and for some patients it can even last two years. This is a very long time and has the advantage that you can discontinue treatments if you decide you no longer want full lips. Lip implants could ruin your lips forever. Please see a…
