Profhilo Bioremodeling: I had Profhilo 5 weeks ago and am extremely happy.
I would try to get one sooner
Oct 10, 2018
Thank you for your excellent question, and I’m delighted to hear you are already happy with your results.
Your doctor’s advice was correct that the ideal starting point is 2 treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart. This allows your tissues to respond appropriately between the treatments. In some patients I even recommend a third treatment, depending on the degree of skin damage they have.
I often recommend an additional treatment at 3 months, and have many very happy patients who return every 3 months…
Is it possible to get any benefit from Caci facials?
There are better ways to invest in your face
Oct 10, 2018
Thank you for your excellent question – this is a conversation I have with many patients. Caci facials fall under the beauty remit rather than offering clinical grade benefits. Using microcurrents, Caci stimulates muscle contraction. People do see an immediate change, but this is always temporary and offers no lasting benefit.
My advice would be to invest in Ultherapy or in clinical grade radiofrequency treatment like Venus Concept. These treatments both have published research…
How much does Botox cost?
Don’t be lured by cheap Botox
Sep 24, 2018
This is a great question – thank you. Botox prices vary according to type of product used, amount used and skill and experience of the practitioner. Bear in mind the costs of running an expert, safe and insured practice will be reflected in the price tag.
Many people price by area of the face (e.g. frown, forehead, eyes). At Illuminate Skin Clinic, we price by the amount of Botox used as I believe this is as transparent as it is possible to be. Botox is a bespoke treatment and…
How long does it take to see result of Botox in glabellar line?
Anywhere Between 2 days and 2 weeks
Sep 24, 2018
Botox kicks in at different speeds in different people. Some people are starting to see some results after 48 hours, but others see very little for over a week. I offer every patient a review appointment to check it at 2 weeks, as by then I’m confident it has fully kicked in.
Has my Botox moved or had a bad reaction due to a massage?
Don’t worry your Botox hasn’t moved
Jul 27, 2017
Hi Valarie
Thanks for posting your question. Please rest assured that after 2 weeks your Botox won’t have moved. The Botox binds to the connection between the nerve and the muscle, and at 2 weeks that process will have completed. This sounds to me like it is likely to be due to the ice that you applied to the area – if something is too cold it can cause swelling within the skin and redness to develop.
I hope that reassures you, but if you are in any way concerned then you should book in for…
Botox causes muscle atrophy over long term use, is this true?
Botox has an excellent safety profile
Mar 1, 2017
Dear Ems
Thank you for posting your question. Botox is used to temporarily weaken specific muscles in the face, decreasing their movement and the subsequent wrinkles this causes in the skin. It is possible that with prolonged use of Botox the muscles being treated shrink in size – sometimes we even use this property for cosmetic reasons when slimming the jawline. It is extremely unusual for this atrophy to cause a cosmetic problem but it may mean smaller doses of Botox are needed. In…
