Fraxel Repair - How long does it take for skin redness to disappear?
Check with a Dermatologist laser expert in your area
Mar 16, 2009
Mar 16, 2009
It can take 2-8 weeks for redness to disappear, depending on the laser intensity used, your skin type and the number of passes done as well as the expertise of the operator. The average should be 3-4 weeks unless you were treated very aggressively.
I would check with a dermatologist laser expert in your area after 4 weeks if it has not resolved (which it most likely will by then) just to be sure that you are doing everything possible to promote ideal healing. We offer a plethora of...

What happens when liquefied fat is not suctioned out?
It is recommended that you get much better results!
Dec 13, 2008
Dec 13, 2008
Cynosure Inc. the laser company that actually manufactures the "Smartlipo MPX" (the newest, top-of-the-line, dual laser Smartlipo) recommends that by suctioning you should get much better results! Many doctors do not suction and many do. Best to check with your surgeon if you want to achieve your optimal results. That is our opinion as well.

What is Affirm laser treatment?
Affirm laser information
Oct 12, 2008
Oct 12, 2008
The great benefit here is that you get 2 laser treatments simultaneously. The Fraxel and most similar systems are generally 1540nm wavelength laser that emit fractional energy 800 microns to 1600 microns into the skin. The Affirm emits 2 wavelengths 1 that most of the energy ends up at 300 microns (where the layer of solar damage is that we want to improve) and the other a very deep 2000-3000 microns for the ultimate in deeper tissue tightening and skin rejuvenation. The Affirm...
Cellulite treatment - how does Triactive compare to VelaShape and Accent XL?
With cellulite treatment, technique is more important than the device
Oct 10, 2008
Oct 10, 2008
In my decade of experience with lasers and the clinical studies that I have read that compare the Triactive & Velashape (higher-powered Velasmooth) and Accent, say that these systems all work very similarly, and results will be pretty similar. But the treatments do feel very different. I wanted a system that was fast, comfortable (actually feels nice, like a massage with gentle warming) and of course, effective.

How does TriActive work?
All of these devices utilize low energy lasers or radiofrequency to treat cellulite
Oct 10, 2008
Oct 10, 2008
The Triactive employs 3 comfortable and effective, simultaneous modalites, suction massage, photomodulating six "Cold 810nm Diode Lasers" and contact cooling. The TriActive facilitates the development of a more contoured, healthier-looking physique by smoothing, undimpling and toning the skin anywhere on the body. With regular maintenance treatments, you can attain firmer, smoother skin and a smoothing of dimpling and most often a decrease in girth over time with a series of...
Active FX vs. Fraxel Repair - what's the difference?
ActiveFX & Fraxel are both CO2 Fractional lasers. Different companies, same wavelengths.
Oct 10, 2008
Oct 10, 2008
They are BOTH CO2 Fractional lasers. Different companies same wavelengths. Often companies claim that "deeper is better" for the tightening aspect. Deeper also means, longer recovery times and I have yet to see 1 study that shows it is necessary to achieve similar results. There are many CO2 fractional lasers on the market today such as: "Affirm CO2 Micro Ablative" (which I have and LOVE IT!) and many more. My "Affirm CO2 is extremely comfortable as I can dial in...
