Does CoolAdvantage (35minutes) have better results than the old applicator CoolSculpting (1hr)
Cool Advantage applicator
Jan 19, 2018
Hi California,
There are many benefits to the Cool Advantage versus the old applicators.
As far as results, I'd say they are the same BUT there are so many benefits to the newer applicators:The advantage is that the applicator is much, much more comfortable/ almost no bruising vs. quite a bit of bruising/ less swelling/ it covers a bit more area and so much quicker!
I LOVE the new applicators for my clients who love their results!!
All the best to you in your CS quest.
What can be done to lighten discoloration as a side effect of CoolSculpting done a year ago? (
Hyperpigmentation issue
Jan 10, 2018
Hi Bismac,It looks like you had the "cool smooth" applicator to treat that area, have you gone back to the practice that did your CS to show them this?It looks like a type of hyperpigmentation that can occur in very rare cases, I would try CE Fruilic by Skincueticals or something to treat the pigment.Perhaps you can go to your dermatologist as they usually carry lines to treat hyperpigmentation. All the best to you.Warmly,Sian Thiessen
Day 14 after CoolSculpting and still swollen/sore? When is it a concern?
14 days post CS treatment
Jan 10, 2018
Hi Casjen,Please do not be worried about soreness, itchiness and pain 2 weeks post treatment as this can be quite normal, in fact, the itchiness is a good sign that everything is working.I'm not sure which applicator they used on you but the older "panel" applicators need to draw more tissue up into them so sometimes that can make it more tender but either ones you had, the soreness varies from person to person. To help, wear some comfortable yet snug Yoga style pants or shorts or light...
Motrin prior to treatment?
Mortin
Jan 3, 2018
Hi Georgetown,You can take Motrin or asprin before your CS procedure but it will increase your chance of bruising however, it is not advised to take it on a regular basis after your procedure as swelling is part of the natural process in the elimination of the fat cells and we don't want to impede that.Good luck with fabulous results!!
Does Coolsculpting tighten your skin as well?
Skin Tightening with Coolsculpting
Dec 28, 2017
Hi Ssupersad ( I hope you're not),Just recently Coolsculpting got a FDA clearance to tighten skin for double chins. In my own experience having CS on hundreds of clients, I do see "skin retraction" on other areas as well but it really depends on the area, age, elasticity etc...that being said, I do see it quite often but we can't make a "claim" that it will happen for sure. All the best to you and Happy New Year!
I want to get CoolSculpting done on my stomach, hips, and arms. Can I do that?
Arms, Abs and Hips
Dec 20, 2017
Hi Nosey!Absolutely you can get arms, abs and hips done the same day, most people prefer to get it all done at the same time.Look for a Certified Coolsculpting Practice that has the faster applicators and also see if they have the new Petite  applicator as you may need that one for your arms. All the best to you with your results!!
How long does CoolSculpting swelling last? I am getting it done on my inner thighs.
Answer to swelling question
Dec 13, 2017
Hi Westwood,There are 2 types of applicators that determine the outcome of swelling. You want to go to a "Coolsculpting Certified Practice" that uses the newest applicators, they are more effective, more comfortable and you get much less swelling".That being said, you might have a week or 2 of slight swelling. All the best to you with your treatments!Sian Thiessen
How Long Does the Coolsculpting Procedure Last and How Many Treatments Are Needed?
There are a couple of variables
Dec 6, 2017
The length of the procedure can vary depending on how many machines the practice has (We have 2 so we do Dual Coolsculpting), which applicators are used and how many cycles you will need.It can be from 1 to 8 cycles, depending on how much excess fat you want to get rid of and you can expect a 15%-25% reduction of fat in that area after a full 3 months of your treatment!Be sure you inquire at a "Coolsculpting Certified Practice"All the best to you and you getting fabulous results!
For stubborn belly would you say CoolSculpting or infrared weight reduction would have better
Coolsculpting is an excellent choice!
Dec 6, 2017
Dear Doraines,Coolsculpting is a very effective and corrective procedure, I recommend you seek a certified CS Practice to see if you are indeed a good candidate. All the best to you with your results!
Zeltiq CoolSculpting - Pain, Bruising, Risks?
Pain, Bruising and Swelling
Jul 26, 2017
As a Diamond Level Practice, MD Laser Spa has had tremendous experience with Coolsculpting with great success! The "good news" is Coolsculpting came out with new applicators pretty recently that are much more comfortable and actually are more effective with better coverage on area and shorter application time, the pain/swelling and bruising that many experienced was from the "older applicator" which was from the strong vacuum which has been greatly improved and much gentler. There still can be...
Failed septoplasty. Is there a chance it needs to be done again ?
Nasal obstruction can be a complex problem
Mar 12, 2015
As a dual board-certified facial plastic surgeon I routinely see patients with problems with nasal breathing. A good examination by an ENT specialist should help you to discover the problem.

Good Luck

I have a perforated septum due to cocaine abuse in the 90s. Can it be repaired?
Saddle nose/ perforated septum- difficult problems
Mar 12, 2015
As a dual board certified facial plastic surgeon I specialize in complex reconstruction of nasal deformities. I would suggest that you research a facial plastic surgeon who is fellowship trained to address this complex problem in your area .

Good Luck

Can Dysport help with the tiny fine lines right underneath the lower lashes?
Dysport can be used for wrinkles in the obicularis muscle
Mar 12, 2015
As a dual board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon I have been using neuromodulators for almost 20 years. This includes using Dysport and Botox in the preseptal and pretarsal obicularis muscle around the lower eyelid without any problems. It certainly does require a board certified surgeon who is very experiened in facial and eyelid anatomy. This is not routinely done by inexperienced injectors, though.

Good Luck,

Dysport may start working faster than Botox
Mar 12, 2015
As a dual board certified facial plastic surgeon I have been using neuromodulators for almost 20 years. Dysport is an excellent product and I suspect you will start noticing an improvement any day now. Give it up to a week or so to reach full relaxation. I am sure you can follow up with yor provider if you have additional questions.
Good Luck

Radiesse slowly dissolves and can be replaced as it does?
Radiesse in the nose works great
Mar 12, 2015
As a dual board certified facial plastic surgeon I specialize in complex rhinoplasty surgery. In addition I will often see patients who are seeking surgery but a simple filler like Radiesse can work great. Some people need repeat injections and some do not.
Good Luck.
