Is it normal I think my skin looks worse after my first chemical peel?
Chemical Peel Recovery
Jan 31, 2019
If you are new to aesthetics, chemical peels are a great way to start sloughing off the dead layers of skin to reveal a more youthful look. Some patients experience a slight purge after a chemical peel or any aesthetic procedure for that matter. Your body uses the skin to push toxins out, which sometimes can result in the skin looking worse before it gets better. If you experience a purge, do not worry because it is normal. Talk with your provider and make sure you...
What is the recovery like for Kybella injections?
Kybella Recovery
Jan 31, 2019
After receiving Kybella, patients can experience some swelling in the treatment area. This can last for up to a week, and in some cases, two weeks. You may also experience a dulling sensation in the area which is temporary. It is recommended to ice the area treated after your procedure and continue to ice on and off (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) for a few days following treatment.

Length of Time Between Laser Hair Treatments
Frequency of Laser Hair Removal Treatments
Oct 17, 2018
With hair removal, we are looking to treat during the anagen phase of hair growth. This phase is when the hair is receiving nutrients to grow and is still connected to the hair bulb. For different areas of the body, the growth of cycles are different. As you move down from the face, the increment of time is longer. For facial treatment areas, we recommend you come in once every 4 to 6 weeks. For torso treatment areas, we recommend 6 to 8 weeks, and for legs,...
Radiesse Swelling
Swelling and Radiesse
Oct 17, 2018
Swelling with Radiesse, much like other fillers, can last up to 2 weeks, although in most patients it will last 3-5 days.
Radiesse Vs. Restylane
Radiesse and Restylane- the Differences
Oct 17, 2018
The main difference between these fillers is what they are composed of. Radiesse is calcium hydroxylapatite in an aqueous gel carrier while Restylane is stabilized hyaluronic acid in a gel carrier. In regards to which one is better, it depends on the amount of volume loss and the depth in which the filler is being injected. Radiesse does have better longevity than the original Resylane. Radiesse may have persistent correction for a year, with a small touch up after several months...
Radiesse Side Effects
Radiesse Risks
Oct 17, 2018
Radiesse, just as with any other filler, can have any of the potential complications; poor cosmetic result, temporary bruising, extrusion, infection, areas of swelling, granuloma formation, allergic reaction, firm hard areas on lips, folds, or lines, inadequate correction of depressions, lines, or lips. Unlike the Hyaluronic Acid Filler, Radiesse is made of Calcium Hydoxylapatite. This substance cannot be reversed or dissolved like the Hyaluronic Fillers can be. The one area to avoid...
Can PRP Injections Be Used As Dermal Fillers?
PRP as Dermal Fillers
Oct 17, 2018
PRP alone is not a replacement for volume, so NO, it is not a dermal filler. It CAN enhance the appearance of the skin a bit, and with multiple sessions, may improve some wrinkles.
Can home microneedling and PRP therapy be good at large pores?
Both in Office Treatments and At Home are Necessary
Oct 17, 2018
Yes – it will help, but our philosophy as doctors and medical aestheticians is that your skin is as good as your homecare. If you don’t take care of your skin at home with good products, then the treatment results will not be optimal. With microneedling and PRP, you are making a commitment to your skin and that commitment includes what you are doing at home. Pore size depends on how you clean your skin. If your skin is not being cleaned regularly, you are allowing mak...
Are there any dangers associated with microneedling and PRP?
No Dangers Associated
Oct 17, 2018
There are no dangers associated with this treatment. What is great about PRP is it is YOUR PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma). It is specific to your blood. What patients love about this treatment is there is almost no downtime. Patients typically will have erythema (redness) for up to 2 to 3 days, but it is easily covered by makeup.
Based on your experience, is better to have microneedling with prp than microneedling
HIghly Recommended with PRP
Oct 17, 2018
We highly recommend PRP with microneedling. PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. Your blood contains life-giving protein growth factors. With microneedling, we are essentially creating a micro-injury to your skin which tells your skin it needs to heal the wound. When using PRP in your treatment, you are speeding up the process of wound healing with a greater stimulation of collagen. Patients have noticed firmer, more youthful-looking skin with PRP than without...
How Soon After Having Coolsculpting Are Measurable Results Seen?
Fat Dies Slowly as it is Eliminated from the Body
Jul 23, 2018
While some patients of CoolSculpting may see results starting as early as 3 weeks after their first treatment, the most dramatic results are usually seen around 3 months after treatment. The reason for this gradual process is because the fat cells are safely crystallized (frozen), slowly die, and then are naturally processed and eliminated from the body. Your body will STILL continue to flush out fat cells for up to 4 to 6 months after treatment. CoolSculpting is an...
Since CoolSculpting Freezes Fat to Kill It, Why Not Just Repeatedly Apply Ice Bags?
It is more technical than simply freezing fat!
Jul 23, 2018
There are many claims on the internet that it is possible to kill fat cells using ice packs (or “at home devices”) on trouble spots. The reasons that these rumors of short-cut fat freezing exist is because many hear that CoolSculpting works because it simply reduces fat cells just by freezing them. CoolSculpting does “freeze the fat”, but this is an overly simplified explanation of how the treatment works so that patients can understand, in broad terms, what the process involve...
Long-term Effects of Coolsculpting?
Coolsculpting Results
Jul 23, 2018
The key to Cryolypolosis, the technology behind CoolSculpting is that fat freezes at a higher temperature than water does. The skin has a high percentage of water, so it does not freeze as quickly as the fat does. When the CoolSculpting applicator is placed on the area with a protective gel pad between the applicator and skin, the underlying fat freezes, but the skin is just cold and numb, not frozen. This is why this procedure has had so much success. No nerves or other...
