Should I see a dermatologist or an aesthetics center for fillers?
Aesthetician or doctor for filler
Jan 6, 2019
You are not over blowing this.  If you are not comfortable with the first person always get a second opinion.   The tear trough is considered a high risk area and you need to see an experienced board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Check out the website, the doctors training and look at their before and after photos. Lana Long MD
Volbella lip filler: upper lip overfilled and uneven? Is this just swelling?
Swelling after lip filler
Jan 6, 2019
It is very common to get swelling after lip filler, and usual peaks the day after filler is placed. Keeping ice on the area will help decrease the swelling. In the rare event your filler is uneven, it can be dissolved at 2 weeks. So relax, I bet you will love the results soon

Too much filler on top lip causing m shape?
M shaped upper lip
Dec 16, 2018
I think your lips look good.  The upper lip is naturally M shaped in most people,  if overfilled you get the dreaded sausage shaped lip.  Go back to see the doctor who did the injection,  and I bet the before photos show the same M shape.  If still unhappy, there are ways to tweak the results.   Good luck. What kind of fillers should I try at 47 years old?
Filler at age 47
Dec 16, 2018
Filler is a great idea for you. It can be placed in the marionette fold to elevate the corners of your mouth. I would use a hyaluronic acid based filler because it can be dissolved in the rare event of a complication, one from the Juvederm or Restylane family. Make sure to go see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who does a lot of fillers. I think you will love the results. Lana Long MD
Do I need cheek filler or nasal labial?
Filler in cheeks vs NLF
Dec 1, 2018
I would place the majority of the filler in the cheek.  Revolumizing this area often causes enough lift to improve the NLF.  If the fold is still evident afterwards, I will inject a small amount there.  1 syringe should give you nice results.   Make sure you see an experienced board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Would 20 units of Botox be enough to use around my lips to make them look better?
Botox for lips
Nov 21, 2018
Botox can be used just above and below the lip lines to soften fine lines and slightly plump the lips.  I typically use 4 units total in this area.  From the photo, I would consider placing Botox in the glabella( 11 lines) between eyes.  I typically use 20 units in this area.  I think you will get the most improvement in this area.  Good luck.   Make sure to use a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.   Lana Long MD
I have had breast cancer. Chemo and radiation. Is Botox safe for a cancer survivor of three years?
Botox after breast cancer
Nov 21, 2018
There are no problems with cancer survivors getting botox.  I am sure you have been through a lot so it would be a nice treat for yourself.   It is the most popular cosmetic procedure in my office, and I bet you will love the results.   Make sure to use a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.   Congratulations and good luck.  Lana Long MD
Could Botox and/or fillers help remove crease from my inner eyes? I feel this crease makes my eyes look t
Glabellar crease
Nov 9, 2018
You are a perfect Botox candidate! It works by releasing the muscles that cause the frowning, making you look mad even if that's not how you feel.  If there are some lines after the Botox settles in around 2 weeks, sometimes a filler is added.  Go see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon,  I think you will love the results!  Lana Long MD
Can I have Juvederm lip fillers a few days after minor dental work?
Filler after tooth abscess
Nov 9, 2018
I would advise waiting around 2 weeks before getting filler.  You never want to inject in an area of known infection, this can lead to nodules and biofilms.  There is a small chance that the abscess is not completely resolved and I would not chance it for an elective procedure. Lana Long MD
Hashimotos and fillers / hyaluronic acid. What is the least invasive and most tolerated substance?
Fillers and hashimoto's thyroiditis
Nov 9, 2018
Thanks for your question.  Hyaluronic acid based fillers ( Juvederm and Resylane family of products) are the way to go.   These fillers are dissolvable in the rare event something goes wrong.  Go to an experienced board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.  Go for it, fillers are great! Lana Long MD
Can botox get rid of puffiness under eyes? Mine are quite bad and permanent and I'm Only 35
Under eye puffiness
Nov 3, 2018
Botox will not help with puffiness.  If you have allergies sometimes an antihistamine like Claritin can help.  Tear trough filler is another thought,  but seek out an experienced board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon as this a tricky area to inject.    Lana Long MD
Can fillers make my face look more feminine?
Fillers to feminized face
Nov 3, 2018
Congratulations on the weight loss.  I think your facial shape and volume look good, and I would be hesitant to add filler. I would consider an outfit with softer colors, a change of glasses or contacts, or perhaps a different hair style first. These are easy to try out, or just go with it and tell them you've lost weight and show them the photos you posted.  Good luck, you look great!   Lana Long MD
I got filler dissolved and I’m left looking like this . What can I do?
Post filler dissolved
Nov 3, 2018
From the photo, it looks like there is still some filler under the eye area.  It often takes a few session of hyaluronidase to dissolve the unwanted filler.  After the bumps are gone,  I would consider an under eye tightening procedure with a fractionated laser or microneedling. I would return to the doctor who placed the filler or seek out an experienced board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
Is under-eye bruising post filler (Juvederm) tied to bumps and contour issues? 13 days post injection (Ph
Under eye bumps post filler
Nov 3, 2018
It looks like there is some residual filler under your eyes.  It is a tricky area to inject.  The good news is that the fillers you mentioned are all hyaluronic acid based and can be dissolved.  I would go back to see the doctor who injected you or seek out an experienced board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Lana Long MD
Is this normal or was my Juvederm botched?
Swelling after lip filler
Oct 28, 2018
The lips usually are more swollen the day after filler placement. Applying ice to the lips can help decrease the swelling. Give it a few more days and I bet you will love it.  If it seems uneven at the 2 week point, I would go have the doctor check it. Relax and ice! Lana Long MD
