CoolSculpting under the chin?
CoolSculpting for Under the Chin
Feb 15, 2018
CoolSculpting is a great option for the right candidate with unwanted under the chin fullness. It can treat stubborn pockets of fat on many areas of the body including the chin. There is no downtime after treatment and results can begin to be seen 1 to 3 months after the treatment. More than one treatment may be needed to reach your desired outcome. This is a great treatment for someone who does not desire surgery or does not have a larger volume of fat for which...
CoolSculpting upper abdominal, no massage after - will this effect treatment?
No Massage after CoolSculpting
Feb 15, 2018
The treated area that did not receive a massage will may not have the same result as if it was massaged though you may still see a nice improvement. There was a clinical study done that compared one side of the abdomen treated with CoolSculpting and followed by the recommended massage verses the other side of the abdomen that was treated with CoolSculpting and did not have the massage. The side of the abdomen that was treated with a massage had a greater reduction at the 2 month...
Which is the best filler for these so-called smokers’ lines? (never smoked).
Fillers for Lip Lines
Feb 15, 2018
I find that hyaluronic acid fillers tend to be the best for this area. I always recommend a consultation to make sure you are a candidate for this treatment and for your doctor to determine the best products for you. Some of my favorites in this area are Juvederm Ultra and Restylane Silk. When addressing the vertical lip lines you may have bruising and/or swelling post treatment. When using filler in this area, the results tend to last 9-12 months. ...
Can skin microneedling make acne scars worse: I got my second skin pen treatment done 12 days ago.
Microneedling for Acne Scars
Feb 15, 2018
Microneedling is a treatment often recommended to help with acne scarring. Using a medical grade microneedling device allows for treatment to deeper parts of the skin without removing or damaging the top layers of the skin. Microscopic channels are created in the epidermis and dermis leading to cellular rejuvenation and smoothing of skins imperfections. A series of treatments are normally needed to achieve the best results. With each treatment, some amount of...
Coolsculpting post bladder cancer, is it safe, will dead cells affect cytology report?
Is CoolSculpting safe after cancer treatment?
Aug 8, 2016
CoolSculpting should be just as safe for you as someone who has not had bladder cancer. No cells would be expected to appear within the urine as none should make it out of the treated area into the bloodstream to be filtered by the kidneys. The damaged cells are cleaned up by macrophage cells in the fat area itself that are purpose made for the job of removing foreign or damaged cells wherever they may be. Congratulations on your successful treatment!
Too fat for Coolsculpting?
Too Fat for CoolSculpting?
Aug 8, 2016
Judging from your photo, no. But it would take a hands on look to know if what we are seeing on the photo is the kind of fat that responds best, that is soft, pinchable and not fibrous. Also how much is fat and how much is skin? And has your weight been stable? A second opinion here with a local body contouring expert (CoolSculpting and liposuction options) should be helpful. Good luck.
Coolsculpting applied crooked - cause for concern?
Crooked CoolSculpting Application
Aug 8, 2016
Crooked abs are not very likely to result from your treatment, but you will need to wait at least 90 days before you can know for sure. It appears from your photos that much of the mid and upper abdomen where treated and I suspect the result from the use of the flat panel applicator here will not reduce the fat enough to show a visible line of demarcation. If you do see an asymmetry, return to the clinic for a dialogue on options for correction. The applicators using...
Coolsculpting on outer area of upper arm?
CoolSculpting on outer area of upper arm
Aug 8, 2016
The short answer is most likely yes! However you will need to see your local Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon CoolSculpting expert for an in office consultation. The area needing to be reduced must fit properly within the available applicators for best results. If it does, you should definitely see some improvement, though maybe not as much as is seen typically on the abdomen and flanks. Good luck with it! Dr. Shafran
Can Coolsculpting on the abdomen after a tummy tuck stretch the muscle (faschia) repair by the pul
CoolSculpting on the abdomen after a tummy tuck
Aug 8, 2016
You'll want to first check with your surgeon before proceeding with CoolSculpting over surgical scars in general, however CoolSculpting does not pull muscle or fascia into the applicator when done properly so there should be no risk to a well healed surgical site. Additionally, the new CoolAdvantage applicators use much less suction and will give an even greater margin or safety. Find a local CoolSculpting expert for your peace of mind.
I just had coolsculpting done last Wednesday. I can't stop itching. When will the pain stop?
Itching after CoolSculpting
Aug 8, 2016
Itching is a relatively common sensation after CoolSculpting. It is a sign of the inflammation produced by the procedure and as a result, usually responds well to anti-inflammatory therapies. Even without therapy this usually resolves within the first several days. I have found that my patients who experience beyond normal pain or itch, are often rewarded with better than expected results when it's all over. Hope that's the case for you too! Your...
I am under the steroid therapy for my thyroid ophthalmopathy. Is it possible for me to try zeltiq
CoolSculpting with Steroid Treatment
Aug 8, 2016
There is no reason why you could not safely be CoolSculpted while on steroid therapy, however there may be some reasons for waiting. Weight gain is common and almost expected after weeks of steroid therapy, so if you are not yet through your full course, you may want to wait to see where your body weight stabilizes before having your local CoolSculpting expert decide if you are a good candidate. In addition, the inflammation that is produced by the CoolSculpting...
I ha a large abdominal incision colectomy the end of last October. Is CoolSculpting appropriate fo
CoolSculpting over an Abdominal Scar
Aug 8, 2016
This is a question that you will want to take up with your local CoolSculpting expert. In general, CoolSculpting CAN be done over well healed surgical or traumatic scars if there is no weakness in the underlying abdominal wall. In other words, if there is no associated hernia related to the incision. There is a chance that CoolSculpting can help improve even unusual fat accumulations that may result from surgery as any fat that is within reach of hand piece should be...
Is CoolSculpting suppose to burn during the procedure, and what does the temperature have to be on
CoolSculpting burning
Aug 8, 2016
The temperature of the CoolSculpting applicators has been very carefully determined through clinical trials to provide enough of a cold injury to destroy unwanted fat, but not enough to destroy healthy skin, blood vessels, and nerves. Just the same, it is cold enough to produce a burning sensation when first applied. Everyone feels this briefly but within minutes it disappears. Most patients are so comfortable they could nap during most of the procedure. Beware of...
I had coolsculpt; it cured my sciatic nerve pain. Why?
CoolSculpting and Sciatic nerve pain improvement
Aug 8, 2016
Though we think about the many expected benefits of CoolSculpting as they may relate to our appearance and even our self image and self esteem, improvement of sciatic pain is not one of them. The treatment provides deep cooling to the skin and fat below, but still well above any of the larger nerves such as the sciatic. It is likely that your sciatica coincidentally improved about the time of your CoolSculpting as nerve pain can spontaneously improve without treatment, or the...
