Lip scars, facial scars, and body scars are often difficult to treat. Treatments should be started in the early phase of injury, but if that is not possible, early intervention is warranted. Treatments for these scars include laser, pulsed dye laser, fractional co2 ablative resurfacing, IIT, and pressure. The procedures are performed to minimize visibility of the scars and to reduce functional impairment from keloids, scar contracture, and loss of movement. Indentations, thickening, widening, and abnormalities of scars can also be improved.
