What can I do about scarring on my nose aver V Beam?
Burn following Vbeam treatment
May 15, 2020
It would be highly unlikely for a Vbeam burn to cause depressed scars. Furthermore, the shape of the pigment loss on your nose makes me wonder if the practitioner actually used a Vbeam device. The Vbeam spot is circular and your pigment loss does not fit that pattern. I recommend seeking the advice of a board certified dermatologist with extensive laser experience. Non ablative fractional resurfacing and/ or microneedling could help your pigment and texture.  I would recommend you have the r...
I’m starting an antibiotic and I’m getting lip fillers this Monday coming up. Will it affect the
Antibiotics and filler
May 15, 2020
I’m assuming since you are starting Accutane soon that your antibiotics are for acne.  If this is true, and the antibiotics are not being prescribed for an acute infection, you may absolutely proceed with filler injections. Additionally, filler prior to starting Accutane is NOT a risk for scarring.  Many doctors do not like to perform these procedures while you’re on the medication, however, again, prior to starting should not present any problems at all. Best to you.
Can under-eye filler make my eyes symmetrical again?
Undereye filler to correct asymmetry
May 15, 2020
Form your photos, it looks as if you would be an ideal candidate for undereye filler. I expect it would correct the subtle asymmetry you have very nicely.  Of course, to be certain, you need an in-person consultation. Be sure to seek the services of a Board Certified Dermatologist who specializes in advanced filler techniques. Best to you.
What can be done about my neck at 33 years old?
Platysmal banding in the neck
Sep 19, 2019
Given that your skin is lovely and not lax, I would not recommend a skin tightening procedure. I would start with Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Jueveau injections to soften the platysmal bands. Many doctors believe  that doing this regularly can prevent the chronic distortion of the skin in the neck, much like it prevents the dynamic wrinkles of the face from becoming etched in. Remember to always protect the skin of your neck with high quality sunscreen. Once laxity begins, Ulthera is a good...
Can Infini RF help with pinpoint grid marks left from Fraxel?
Pin point “dots” after Fraxel
Jul 28, 2019
A photo would really help.  It’s quite possible that microneedling RF will help, but I would seek a second opinion before jumping in. Are the “dots” hyperpigmentation, depressions, petechiae?  All these things would require a different approach. Please see a board certified dermatologist who specializes in laser treatments to see what is going on. They can then recommend the best course of treatment. Best to you.
How can I treat my wound without scars on cheek?
Scar treatment
Jul 28, 2019
A combination of non ablative and very low density ablative fractional laser treatments is best for scarring. I would start with Fraxel laser treatment monthly and every third treatment is with the fractionated CO 2 laser. Vbeam laser treatments may also help.  Be sure to see a dermatologist who specializes in treating scars. Best to you.
Would I make a good candidate for Coolskulpting underneath my jaw? (Double chin?)
Cool sculpting for excess fat under the chin
Jul 28, 2019
Cool sculpting is an excellent option for many patients, but when the amount of tissue is very small as in your case, the applicator may not fit. In that case Kybella injections or sub mental liposuction, which can be done under local anesthesia as an outpatient, are the better options. You also need to be examined to be sure the fat is subcutaneous and not under the platysma muscle. See a board certified dermatologist or facial plastic or general plastic surgeon who performs ALL three...
Should I get Juvederm or Upper Lip Lift?
Lip filler vs surgery
Jul 28, 2019
A plastic surgeon can better answer the surgical part of your questions, however they will likely want to see your nose in the photo as it’s important to see the distance from for nose to your upper lip. If tooth show is your main driving factor, a lip lift is usually necessary. Filler will give you fullness but it won’t typically increase the tooth show. You can get eversion of the upper lip and a slight increase in tooth show with Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeauveau injections. Best to you.
Subcision-induced hard lump. Unresponsive to 1st (dilute) cortisone shot & daily massage. Wha
Lump after subcision
Jul 28, 2019
Continue firm, compressive massage and try adding hyaluronidase which will help if it is a hematoma. I would also consider intralesional bleomycin which will help if it is scar tissue.  The bump can be camouflaged in the meantime with a hyaluronic acid filler ( after the hyaluronidase of course ). Best to you.
Are fillers synthetic or animal based? Where is hyaluronic acid derived from?
How are HA fillers manufactured
Jun 11, 2019
All HA fillers currently available In the US for cosmetic injections are synthesized in the lab using bacteria as the source.

Worried after fillers
Apr 6, 2019
It is absolutely not true that you have done any permanent damage to your face. If you’re unhappy with the way it looks, return to your doctor and have the filler removed. Assuming it was hyaluronic acid based, this is easily achieved.  I do have to ask you though,  why at age 25 do you want to look younger?  Wanting to look more beautiful when you’re young makes sense. Wanting to look younger when you are already very young is curious. Perhaps you are focusing on the wrong thing.
Should I have Ultherapy on my chin and neck before or after CoolSculpting under the chin? (photos
Ultherapy vs Coolsculpting vs Kybella
Apr 5, 2019
I recommend seeing a doctor who does Coolsculpting and Kybella as well as Ulthera. I would start with either Coolsculpting or Kybella. Often times you will get enough improvement with either of those two modalities. Best to you.
Asymmetrical smile and neck after Botox, wedding in 2 months suggestions?
Botox before wedding.
Apr 5, 2019
I agree with the consensus. Do not add more Botox. It is likely that your smile will be back to normal in 2 months. Congratulations on your wedding.
What is the best way to get rid of fine lines and crepey upper eyelid skin?
Excess upper eyelid skin
Apr 5, 2019
This can be improved with laser resurfacing and further improved with a brow lift from Botox/Dysport  and a non invasive tightening treatment like Ulthera.  Having said that, the downtime from laser resurfacing whether fractionated or full is often more  than the downtime from a simple upper lid blepharoplasty. I would consult with an oculoplastic or plastic surgeon. If you still don’t want surgery, the non surgical options listed above are there. Make sure you see a board certified dermat...
I am 68 years old and smoked for years. Will a filler help get rid of all the lines and wrinkles
Lines around mouth
Apr 5, 2019
Fillers alone will soften the lines, however, I would recommend laser resurfacing first, followed by fillers for any remaining lines.  Make sure to see a board certified dermatologist who is a laser expert . If the folds are what bothers you, then yes, a facelift will help, however, it will not address the quality of skin. Think of it this way - Facelift/neck lift is for QUANTITY of skin and lasers are for QUALITY of skin. Whichever you choose, I wish you the best.
