Cosmetic procedures, including Coolsculpting are not reimbursable with insurance. You may be able to use a Health Savings credit card to pay for treatments in a physicians office, but I have NEVER heard of insurance playing a part in covering Coolsculpting.

Coolsculpting can be performed on the upper arm area. It is non-invasive and the FIT applicator would be used. A typical candidate is one that has pinch-able fat, not just loose skin. The Coolsculpting procedure results technically should be permanent. In fact, most of our patients see a reduction of anywhere from 20 - 30 % in the area. Of course, patients may gain weight, but it may be dispersed in another area of their body. For the stomach area, if you truly have that squeezable fat, you are most likely a good candidate for CoolSculpting, unless what you're squeezing is mostly skin. Actually your experience of having some swelling, but no or little pain and soreness after CoolSculpting is very common. In fact, that is actually how the systems were developed. Numbness after the treatment is normal, especially in the lower abdomen, but do NOT think it's not working. Remember, when fat cells are frozen they die and it will still take 6 - 12 weeks to notice any changes.

Coolsculpting results can be significant and permanent. As long as one eats wisely and maintains an appropriate diet the fat cells will not return to that area. This is similar with liposuction results as well.

Since the area is sensitive many patients may have some soreness for 2 - 3 weeks after, however the results can truly be dramatic. Unless you own Zeltiq's Coolsculpting machine - I would say NO, doing frozen baths at home is not going to do what this technology does. If you gain weight after your Coolsculpting(or even liposuction) procedures it will most likely go to the remaining fat cells. So technically, if you gain a large amount of weight, you could gain weight in the same area as some fat cells remain.
