The lips are a particularly sensitive area for filler treatment. I would choose an experienced Dermatologist with a gentle touch. For your comfort, a topical anesthetic and ice can be applied before your treatment for a numbing effect. If you would like additional anesthesia, a nerve block can be given. There may be some swelling initially after Voluma or any injectable filler. Swelling may be related to technique, speed of injection, associated bruising and amount given. I would recommend reassessing your cosmetic result with your physician injector about two weeks after your proceedurfor you to have the most satisfaction from your treatment. It usually takes about 2-3 days for the effect of Botox to begin. It may take up to two weeks for the complete result of Botox to be seen. The number of comparable units of Dysport and Botox may have been different; the technique of the providing physician may have been different; the reconstitution of the product may have been differnt. All these factors may affect the outcome.
