Infected nasal implant, advice?
Infected implant
Apr 15, 2018
I am sorry to hear that you have had problems with your nasal implant. In cases in which an implant is used and becomes infected the most important thing to do is have it removed. It is concerning that you are still getting purulent drainage from your nose even after the removal of the implant. It is possible that not all of the implant was removed and could still serve as a source infection. It is important that you are seen by a surgeon knowledgeable in...
Should I consult a cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist to remove unwanted moles?
Unwanted moles
Apr 15, 2018
Either a plastic surgeon or dermatologist could help you with the unwanted moles. Their skill level is more important than their title. I would seek recommendations from friends and relatives for providers they have had do a similar procedure on them and were happy with the results. Best of luck.
I had upper blepharoplasty and the end of the suture thread was left hanging out.
Sutures after blepharplasty
Apr 15, 2018
It is difficult to tell from the photos. Some surgeons will leave the sutures out on the ends which is very reasonable. However without more detail it is difficult to give you more info. Contact the surgeon who performed the procedure and ask them if this is normal. At the very least they can give you reassurance. Best of luck.
Post rhinoplasty upturned nose, bulbous tip, and nostrils showing. Is this normal?
Post rhinoplasty
Apr 15, 2018
I am sorry to hear you are having a difficult time following your rhinoplasty. However, you are still very early in he healing process. Just like if you had surgery on your knee 2 weeks ago there would be swelling your nose is no different. You will have obvious swelling for 1-2 months that may be asymmetrical. The tip of the nose often times loses some rotation during the healing process and yours may also. After the majority of the swelling is gone in a couple months there will still be a...

Bruises months after filler
Apr 9, 2018
It is difficult to tell without photos; however, it would extremely unlikely to develop bruising over 2 months after the injections. In some cases, filler placed to close to the surface can have a bluish discoloration to it but I would not expect that to be a delayed presentation either. I would recommend discussing your results with the physician that performed the injections who can examine you in person and give you treatment recommendations.
Will this swelling go down on its own or will I need an intervention?
Swelling after rhinoplasty
Apr 9, 2018
You are very early in the healing process following rhinoplasty. It is common to have significant swelling following rhinoplasty which may fluctuate from day to day. I also find that my patients undergoing revision rhinoplasty may have more pronounced swelling. This will improve with time. However, the surgeon that performed the procedure would have the best insight into the swelling and what to expect from the coming weeks.
Non surgical nose job: how many times is too much to avoid complications?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty
Apr 9, 2018
I am sorry to hear about the problems you had with your previous rhinoplasty. It is very reasonable to repeat the filler injections over time. There are always risks with filler injections in the nose but the physician injecting your nose can discuss these with you and how they pertain to your anatomy and injection sites.
Botox to fix forehead scar (acne scar or wrinkle) that has been there for years?
Forehead line
Apr 9, 2018
If the line does not get worse or accentuated with movement then Botox is unlikely to be helpful. You might consider a dermal filler to add volume back to the tissue under the line. I have had excellent results with this in depressed scars and even very deep wrinkles that don't completely resolve following Botox treatment. Best of luck.
How long do you wear a facial garment after a facelift?
Facelift garments
Apr 9, 2018
This is an excellent question and not one with an absolute correct answer. I ask that may patients wear a compressive garment for the first week as much as they can and then at night for the second week. I find that the edema subsides faster. Regardless of my preference, I would recommend you follow the protocol of the surgeon performing your surgery.
Will I see any more pigmentation improvement from Halo? 4 days post op.
Results following HALO
Apr 9, 2018
The HALO treatment is excellent for pigment. I even usually combine it with BroadBand Light (BBL) for even better results. The photos you posted show that you got a few MENDS but I would have expected more at a setting of 350 um. If you are only day 4 out from treatment you may see some additional improvement in the result but it may not be dramatic. Discuss your result with the physician that performed the procedure. In some cases a second treatment...

Post rhinoplasty questions
Apr 9, 2018
I am sorry to hear that you are having troubles after your rhinoplasty. I counsel my patients that the majority of the swelling will go down in 1-2 months but there are still small amounts of swelling that will continue to go down up to a year out from surgery. Some of the asymmetry that you see may improve over time; however, based on the photos that you posted there may still be some residual deviation even once the swelling goes away. I would recommend...
Uneven cheek implants?
Far too early to tell
Aug 7, 2016
I completely understand your concerns but it is way too early to tell if there is asymmetry. Your cheeks will be swollen due to the procedure for weeks to months. I would wait at least 3 months before I would be worried that any asymmetry will remain long term. Your pictures look like typical post-operative swelling. Additionally, patients never have the exact same amount of swelling on both sides. There is always one side that is more swollen than the...

Puffiness after Mohs surgery
Jul 14, 2016
It is difficult to give good recommendations without photos. If the defect was repaired and the flap or surrounding tissue is swollen and puffy this isn't abnormal. I am sorry to hear about your troubles. If a biopsy was taken 5 years ago and the wound will not heal I would get it checked again by a physician. They will likely want to re-biopsy it.
