Reaction to Botox does it mean you can’t have it again?
True allergies to Botox
Aug 23, 2017
While true allergies to Botox are very uncommon, they can occur. It is important to let your practitioner know, as well as the manufacturer of Botox (Allergan). If this is a true Botox allergy, I would recommend avoiding Botox in the future. You may want to consider seeing an allergist (a doctor who specializes in the treatment of allergies), to try to determine what component triggered your reaction.
I’m 24 years old and I want a slight brow lift. Is Botox or Juvederm good for young adults? (phot
Slight brow lift
Aug 23, 2017
Botox is a great option to produce a slight brow lift. Juvederm would be used for different purposes, such as filling in areas that are hollowed out and need more volume. Make sure to obtain a facial evaluation from a practitioner who is experienced in the placement of both Botox and fillers so that they may devise the perfect treatment strategy to obtain the results you desire. Botox does inhibit muscle contraction so that you are less likely to develop wrinkles created…
Why has my Botox not worked when any other time I had it administered it does?
Botox injection
Aug 23, 2017
While I do not know the particular reason your Botox injection has not worked for you this time, a few potential issues come to mind. It may be that the concentration of Botox that you received during this treatment was less than what you received before (even if the total volume was the same). Botox should come in a concentration of 4 units per 0.1 ml. If there are fewer units per ml then you may have received less Botox overall. Also, although it is quite rare, some…
Seeking expert advice regarding the best approach to address facial volume loss and smile lines?
Facial treatment options
Aug 23, 2017
Dermal fillers would be a good option to help fill out the smile lines and to fill in hollowed out areas around the eyes and cheeks. Depending on the type of filler used, the results can last up to 18 months. Another good option to decrease the fine lines and increase the overall plumpness and texture of your skin is microneedling. It is a procedure that essentially stimulates collagen growth beneath the skin to give the skin a plumper, firmer appearance, and help to…
Can chin fillers and lip injections balance out a slightly wide nose?
Facial asymmetry
Aug 23, 2017
Hello and thank you for your question. First of all, fillers would be an excellent treatment to help balance out any facial asymmetry (such as a receding chin). They can also fill in hollows around the cheeks, eyes, and help plump up the lips. I would recommend, however, that you have a formal facial consultation to determine the best combination of surgical and non-surgical treatments for your particular areas of concern.
I just had fillers injected under my eye. Is it typical for me to have puffiness and how long doe
Dermal filler under eyes
Aug 23, 2017
It is normal to experience swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. The swelling should subside in 7 days or so. Using ice packs on the treated area may also help to reduce the swelling, but make sure not to apply anything more than very gentle pressure so as to not disrupt the filler placement location. If the swelling or puffiness does not improve after ten days, I would recommend that you reach out to your practitioner for an evaluation.
Would the belotero balance work for black skin?
Skin tones and colors
Aug 23, 2017
Yes, Belotero works well on all skin tones and colors. Depending on where exactly the hollows of your face are, you may be a candidate for longer lasting fillers such as Juvederm Voluma. For instance, I would treat hollowness at the cheekbone area with Voluma. For hollowness around the eyes, Belotero is your best bet. Good Luck!
How long do Belotero lip fillers last?
Belotero dermal filler
Aug 23, 2017
Belotero lasts around six months so the best plan of action to maintain your lips with Belotero is to get bi-annual injections for best results. I would recommend follow-up with your practitioner, and to review your before and after pictures and timeline of injections with your practitioner so you can chart out a plan to get the results you desire. Thank you for your question!
Is it ok to get Belotero in the lips? I see conflicting information online. Thanks
Hyaluronic dermal filler
Aug 23, 2017
Belotero is a hyaluronic dermal filler that can be injected into the lips to give a smooth, supple, natural looking enhancement. It can give volume to thin lips and help to shape the outline of the lips as well. It has an advantage over other hyaluronic acid fillers in that it contains a unique mist of ingredients that give lips a soft, smooth look and avoids the puffy or lumpy look. It also has the benefit of not creating the Tyndall effect, which is the bluish tinge you may see under the…
Should I wear compression socks or compression stockings while working out before and after surge
Medical compression stockings
Aug 17, 2017
After Radiofrequency ablation (RFA), it is recommended to wear compression stocking for at least a week and up to three weeks following the removal of the ace bandages and at this time you only need to wear it during the day and not at night. Also, it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for two weeks after the procedure. If instead, Venaseal closure system is used, this innovative treatment option uses an adhesive to seal the vein and does not…
Why is there a consent form for Belotero, but not any other HA fillers?
Consent for Belotero and other dermal fillers
Aug 11, 2017
There should be a consent for every dermal filler you have performed at a physician’s office. The consent ensures that the patient understands what the procedure is, the procedure risks and benefits, and that the patient voluntarily agrees to undergo the procedure. Thanks for your question.
Malar bags swollen after Belotero. How long does it typically take to resolve? Why are they react
Swelling after Belotero
Aug 11, 2017
After receiving Belotero Injections, a local inflammatory reaction can occur. This is temporary and usually lasts less than seven days. It is best to avoid strenuous exercise, heat/sun exposure, non steroidal anti inflammatory medicine or aspirin, and alcoholic drinks for a few days after the procedure.
Is this Belotero improperly placed?
Belotero under eyes
Aug 11, 2017
Belotero dermal filler may have given you an injection site reaction in the form of inflammation. It is usually temporary and lasts less than seven days. Avoid strenuous activity and sun exposure, and also follow up with your physician.
Coolsculpting Inquiry: Wanting to get a flat tummy, is this the best procedure for me?
Coolsculpting Inquiry
Aug 11, 2017
Stubborn fat that does not go away with diet and exercise can be treated with CoolSculpting technology. The procedure uses controlled cooling to target fat cells and eliminate them. The results are permanent. There are fewer fat cells in the area of the body that has been treated. However, if you gain weight, the remaining fat cells can still enlarge. The best way to maintain your results is with a healthful diet and a good exercise program. I encourage you to visit a…
What kind of applicator is best suited for my abdominal area – how many cycles?
Applicator for abdominal area
Aug 11, 2017
In general, the CoolCore applicator works well on the abdominal area. However, a formal evaluation is necessary to determine which applicator is best for you. This is can be done with an in-person consultation. I encourage you to visit a physician trained in the Coolsculpting procedure that can provide a clinical recommendation.
