Answer Snippet
Will a tummy tuck get rid of pregnancy stretch marks?
stretch marks and tummy tuck
Apr 15, 2019
Thank you for the question and the photos. The majority of the stretch marks will be removed. Specifically, the stretch marks that are below the belly button. The tummy tuck incision should be well below your c-section scar so it will come out in the skin and fat that is removed. You are a great candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction. Continue to work on reaching your goal weight and then see a plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Past Medical issues that can prevent me from being a tummy tuck candidate?
medical history and tummy tuck
Apr 15, 2019
Thank you for the question. As you stated you would need clearance from your cardiologist. I would also add clearance from your neurologist. You may find that some surgeons may choose not to operate on you regardless of the clearances. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon so the appropriate precautions are taken during and after your surgery.
Are my breasts tuberous? Can they be fixed with breast augmentation, or what procedures would get
Tuberous breast
Apr 15, 2019
Thank you for the question and the photos. Good job on the weight loss. From the pictures you have some asymmetry in volume, shape and nipple position. You would do great with breast implants of different sizes to improve the asymmetry and a lift on one side to get the nipples more even. As long as your breasts have not changed over the past year and your weight is stable you can proceed anytime with breast surgery. Good luck
Is someone with fibrocystic breasts a candidate for either a breast lift or augmentation?
Fibrocystic disease and breast surgery
Apr 15, 2019
Fibrocystic disease is very common and is not a contraindication for surgery. Women with fibrocystic breasts do well with either an implant or mastopexy if needed. Good luck
Is CoolSculpting an option for my abdomen or do I need a tummy tuck/lipo?
CoolSculpting versus liposuction
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the photo. You look like a great patient for either CoolSculpting or liposuction. From the pictures you appear to have good skin that will respond to either fat reduction modality. The difference between liposuction and CoolSculpting in terms of results is that with lipo you can always remove more fat. Best of luck.
Is a tummy tuck my only option?
Tummy tuck for loose skin
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the photo. Great job on the weight loss and working out. As you have experienced after that skin gets stretched with pregnancy there is no exercise or diet that can make it go down after a certain point. You are a great candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction. A tummy tuck will address the loose hanging skin, tighten the abdomen muscles and the liposuction portion will sculpt the sides and upper abdomen. Good luck
One year post-op breast reduction: ingrown hair, pimple or random undissolved stitches?
lump one year after breast reduction
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the picture. Please do not freak out. This will be ok. It most likely is a cyst from a suture or bit of skin trapped underneath. Your plastic surgeon will be able to assess this and take care of it easily.
9 weeks post op, would I need a revision for post-op asymmetry?
Asymmetry after breast implants
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the photos and the question. This is an extremely common concern early after breast augmentation. It is not uncommon that one breast will appear and act different than the other. It is always best to wait at least 6 month before you consider another surgery. It will change a lot between now and then. Also, when discussing with your surgeon they may have tried different implants during surgery and decided that this implant gave you the least asymmetry. As hard as we try, it is...
3.5 weeks post op breast implants, are my implants dropping too quickly?
Implants dropping too quickly
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the photo. From the pictures everything looks great. Everyone's tissue is different. So your result will look different at 3.5 weeks then somebody else. Be sure to discuss with your surgeon the next office visit.
Am I bottoming out 7 weeks post breast augmentation?
Bottoming out after breast surgery
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the picture. You are not bottoming out. Your implants look great. All appears very normal for 7 weeks. Be sure to discuss any concerns with your surgeon and follow all their instructions.
Itchy burning skin 5 weeks post breast implants. What could this be?
Itchy burning skin after breast implant
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the question. You should see your surgeon to discuss why your skin is itching. They will discuss with you any topicals (lotions or scar care) that you may be using that may be causing this. If you are not using anything on your skin it may be the nerves healing and some inflammation. There are different medications that may help this.
10 days post op breast implant, PS confirmed hematoma. Which choice is the best?
Treatment for hematoma
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the question. So sorry you are having this problem. I would recommend that you choose going back to the operating room to wash out the old blood, stop the bleeding and put the implant back in. I believe this will give you the best chance of avoiding a capsular contracture in the future. You may want to discuss with your surgeon to use Singulair after your surgery to possibly further decrease your chances of capsular contracture. Good luck!
Will 415cc too big for me? Will be D cup? Or DD?
Will a D be too big
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the photo and question. The size you decide upon with your surgeon will be based on your tissue, your measurements and how large you would like to be. You appear to be a great candidate for breast augmentation. Keep in mind that to maintain a very long lasting result you do not want to go overly large. With large implants. they will look good initially but the larger the implant, the more pressure on your tissue and the more your result will change over time. Good luck
Should I see a doctor for rippling and burning pain in left breast after surgery 3 years ago?
Should I see my surgeon 3 years after breast implants
Apr 14, 2019
This is a very important question. Yes, you should see your surgeon. They will be able to help you and discuss with you the change that has occurred over the 3 years. I am confident that they will be able to determine a cause and solution. After breast implant surgery it is, in general, very important for patients to keep in touch with their surgeons and check in periodically. If you have not been seen for a while please see your surgeon if you have change in any size, shape or...
Would breast implants work/sit right on my deformed ribcage with pectus excavatum?
Implants and pectus excavatum
Apr 14, 2019
Thank you for the question and for the photos. I think it is great that you recognize that you will have some asymmetry after surgery. All patients have some degree of breast and chest wall asymmetry. You are still a good candidate for a moderate implant and mastopexy. Your pectus is much less noticeable due to the amount of breast tissue that you have. The only reason not to have surgery is if your expectations are perfect symmetry.
