This is a very common question. Since you are applying a potential irritant to areas that are healing up post-surgery, I usually recommend to my patients to wait a month. This is a more conservative approach as this also dependents on the type of dye, sensitivity of your scalp, type and size of surgery, and your stage in the healing process.
