How Many Botox Units for Horizontal Forehead Lines?
Forehead injections
May 6, 2018
There are multiple factors that will determine the number of Botox units required to treat forehead including severity of wrinkles, overall facial features (including brow positioning) and reconstitution of the product (we vary mixing techniques depending on which part of the face we treat). Over the years, many of us have reduced the overall forehead doses to ensure that our patients remain natural and still expressive. Many of my patients only require 6-12 units to accomplish such results.
Can You Exercise After Botox or Will It Decrease the Results?
Exercise after botox
May 6, 2018
Despite numerous instructions, the exact science of exercise restriction after botox injections remains unknown. Most of us recommend waiting at least 4 hours after your treatment (although some of my colleagues are more cautious and suggest waiting 24 hours before resuming strenuous exercise).
How much does Botox cost in Calgary?
Botox cost in Calgary
May 6, 2018
Botox cost in Calgary varies depending on the treatment area (frown lines between brows, forehead lines, crows feet, bunny lines, masseters are the most common) and severity of wrinkles that require treatment. Many specialists charge for an area treated and typical prices range between $350-$650. Remember that if you want effective, safe and natural results you should seek a consultation by an experienced cosmetic dermatologist who performs these treatments on a daily basis. After all, the k...
Which non invasive procedure is the very best to reduce deep and medium fine wrinkles
Wrinkle treatment
Apr 29, 2018
We currently have multiple treatments that can address wrinkles.1. In patients who have wrinkles throughout their whole face, we prefer using laser resurfacing. Our most effective procedure is fractional CO2 resurfacing which can tighten your skin and thus reduce the appearance of your wrinkles, diminish pigmentation/brown spots and rejuvenate your skin. In some patients who don't have 1 week to spare for their downtime we can use alternative treatments including fraxel, picosecond ...
Have had Botox for 40 + years.. It has now stopped working? Any suggestions to why it
Botox stopped working
Apr 29, 2018
Luckily we have 2 other alternatives including Dysport and Xeomin that can be used in patients who are not getting an optimal response with Botox. Alternatively trying to optimize/increase your dose within safety margin could also be considered.
How long does the swelling last after lip Juvederm? How long should I be icing?
Lip swelling
Apr 29, 2018
Swelling after lip filler augmentation is very common. Although it can last for over 1 week, most patients will notice resolution of such swelling within couple days. Using ice packs in the first few days is appropriate. In cases of very severe swelling some physicians may consider oral medications including either antihistamines or rarely prednisone. Of course, if such swelling persists for over 1 week you should see your physician and determine if hyaluronidase enzyme is needed to dissolve...
Do lip fillers like Juvederm increase gap between nose and mouth?
Juvederm
Apr 29, 2018
Typically lip augmentation with fillers can be used to decrease the gap between the tip of the nose and the lip and it would be very unusual for you to notice the opposite result (based on your question). You should wait at least 1 week post treatment to determine if such "gap" is truly real. In the future if you still have such a concern, additional Juvederm filler can be injected right in the upper cutaneous lip (lip area above the red of your lip) to shorten such a gap.
