I had a mohs surgery on my nose, full thickness skin graft 15 days ago
Skin Graft on the Nose after #Mohssurgery for #skincancer
Feb 2, 2017
In general, I tell patients it takes skin grafts a number of weeks, even months to look like normal skin. It is not uncommon to develop a crust over top of a new graft while it is healing. This can make it look or feel stiff. The new skin grows under this layer and replaces the crust as it is sloughed off. Your surgeon can advise you on the best ways to care for your graft to get optimal results. If the healing does not appear to be progressing as you had expected, I would reach out to the...
What is the best method to remove broken capillaries on the face?
#Laser for Broken Capillaries
Feb 2, 2017
There are a number of highly effective procedures and laser therapies available to treat broken capillaries on the face. Vbeam, IPL, KTP are just a few. It is best to consult a dermatologist who performs laser procedure for a formal evaluation and see which treatment options are best for you.
I had Mohs procedure about 1.5 yrs ago. I noticed this morning that it seems to be scabbing up all
#Recurrence after #Mohs surgery
Feb 2, 2017
Although extremely rare, skin cancer recurrences after Mohs surgery can occur. If a skin cancer comes back, it can present as a scab or bleeding area around the surgical site. I recommend contacting your dermatologist or the surgeon who performed the procedure - they can best evaluate you and review your treatment options.
CoolSculpting result? about4wks ago but I still don't see any result yet. Do you know what is the r
#Coolsculpting results
Feb 2, 2017
While some patients see early changes after coolsculpting, it can take 3+ months to see the results of a coolsculpting session. We encourage patients to be patient and wait the necessary time for the body to resorb and eliminate the treated fatty tissue.
Nefertiti necklift. Will botox in platysmal bands affect yoga practice?
#Botox and #Yoga
Dec 8, 2016
It is highly unlikely Botox injections in the neck and platysmal bands performed for a Nefertiti lift will have effect on your yoga poses. I have performed this procedure on many patients and none have ever reported heavy feelings or head position.
Getting botox in same area that you already have filler. Can this damage/move the already existing
#Botox and #fillers
Dec 1, 2016
Injecting Botox in the same place that was previously injected with dermal fillers should not effect the filler. Treating the same area with both of these products in a common practice and can optomize rejuvenation and wrinkle treatments.
I put on my winter hat which is knitted. Will that affect the Botox treatment?
#Botox and Hats
Dec 1, 2016
I am not familiar with any reports of a Botox treatment being affected by wearing a hat, knitted or otherwise.
Does getting botox for crow's feet affect your eye sight?
#Botox and Eyesight
Sep 6, 2016
It would be highly unlikely for Botox administered to treat crows to cause double vision. Eyelid drooping has been reported after Botox injections. However, the Botox would have to reach muscles deep inside the eyesocket to impair your vision.
Skin graft on side of nose after mohs keeps bubbling up.
Skin Graft on the Nose after #Mohssurgery for #skincancer
Sep 6, 2016
There are a number of reasons why your skin graft might bubble after Mohs surgery for skin cancer. Often, the skin graft will cover a pore or follicle on the nose. This can literally create an acne cyst under the graft. If the graft did not heal completely, there might be granulation tissue present. Scar tissue can also behave in a similar manner. Ultimately, You should check with your surgeon to ensure the skin cancer is not reoccurring.
Can I get my beauty mark removed and put into a different spot on my face and smaller?
Mole Transplant
Aug 15, 2016
Similar to a skin graft, a mole could be removed from one area of the body and moved to another. There is a risk of scarring, poor healing and other risks of skin surgery associated with this procedure. The risks might outweigh the benefits of moving beauty marks from one area of the skin to another. A tattoo might be a better option.
Isotretinoin plus microneedling?
#Accutane and microneedling
Jul 31, 2016
In medical studies, Accutane has been shown to impair wound healing and worsen scarring. At my clinic, I do not recommended patients do any resurfacing procedures including Laser, chemical peels or microneedling within six months of taking Accutane.
Is it safe and possible to cool sculpt under eye bags?
#Coolsculpting and Under Eye Bags
Jul 31, 2016
Coolsculpting is not currently recommended for treatment of under eye bags. Surgical removal by blepharoplasty is probably the gold standard. Non-invasive treatments such as laser skin tightening and dermal filler injections  to soften the appearance of the under eye Skin can also be performed.
What is the correct time to schedule a second Coolsculpting appointment?
Scheduling #CoolSculpting treatments
Jul 31, 2016
The maximum results of a coolsculpting session are visible at 2 to 3 months after treatment.  While some physicians will stack treatments, I typically recommend about 4 to 6 weeks between sessions.  I am not aware of any added benefit of doing the treatments more frequently.
Is there a non-surgical solution to paradoxical adipose hyperplasia resulting from Coolsculpting?
Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia after #CoolSculpting
Jul 31, 2016
Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia is an extremely rare adverse effect that has been reported with coolsculpting. At this point, liposuction is the primary recommended modality for correcting this outcome. There are some other body contouring devices available, including Vanquish and Sculpsure. You should speak with your physician to see if you are a candidate for these other non invasive treatments
Will prescribed Prednisone pack affect my recent Coolsculpting?
Prednisone and #CoolSculpting
Jul 31, 2016
While long term prednisone use has been associated with weight gain, water retention, and increased abdominal girth, a short course of steroid, such as a dose pack, should not have significant effects on your coolsculpting procedure.
