Does Coolsculpting Eliminate Cellulite?

CoolSculpting is not a treatment for Cellulite

CoolSculpting is without a doubt, a fantastic option for non-surgical fat reduction, but in no way is improving the appearance of cellulite.

Unfortunately, there is not a fat reduction treatment, surgical or non-surgical, that we would ever want to promote as treatment for cellulite.

If you’re wanting to improve and treat cellulite, New Cellulaze procedure is the direction we would encourage you to pursue.

It is a promising and very successful treatment option for this specific concern. (Gregory Mesna, MD, FACS, Minneapolis Plastic Surgeon)

Zeltiq is not a treatment for cellulite

CoolSculpting is a great treatment for fat reduction but may improve, not change or even make cellulite look worse in rare individuals, although the latter has not been seen by me but that is the suggestion when discussing liposuction and it should be mentioned to be thorough.

An FDA-approved, Non-surgical Method For Removing The Excess Flab By Destroying Fat Cells And Eliminating It From Specific Body Spots

Zeltiq is not a treatment for cellulite but if you get improvement then it’s considered a bonus. It would not be expected to be long term, though as there is no cure for cellulite. (Ronald Shelton, MD, Manhattan Dermatologic Surgeon)

CoolSculpting not designed to treat Cellulite

Unfortunately, CoolSculpting is not effective at treating cellulite. It is a great treatment for fat reduction. CoolSculpt works to selectively freeze fat cells and program cell death. The fat cells then are eliminated from your body over the next few months.

Cellulite is something that is very difficult to treat because it is caused by fibrous connective tissue in between the fat layers that manifests as dimpling on the surface of the skin. (Steven H. Williams, MD, San Francisco Plastic Surgeon)

Cellulite Reduction

Coolsculpting is used for reducing fat in the areas treated. Some may say that the cellulite in those areas may also be “reduced” but this is not what this machine is used for. Visit with a physician and after an examination, they can recommend the best option for your situation. (Tom J. Pousti, MD, FACS, San Diego Plastic Surgeon)

Zeltiq Coolsculpting not effective for cellulite

Zeltiq is not a good treatment for cellulite because it’s so limited in its area of treatment. A better treatment for cellulite would be Liposonix or UltraShape because they target large surface areas. Liposonix and UltraShape both use high-intensity focused ultrasound (nonsurgical liposuction) to permanently destroy fat but only Liposonix is currently FDA approved to melt fat in the U.S. (received FDA approval received Nov 2011). Clinical trials with Liposonix have demonstrated at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) of fat reduction per treatment per area.

Liposonix is currently the only FDA approved noninvasive fat melting device in the U.S. Other devices that use unfocused ultrasound such as Vaser Shape and Bella Contour do nothing to affect the fat, they are simply a warm massage. (M. Christine Lee, MD, Walnut Creek Dermatologic Surgeon)

Coolsculpting and cellulite

Unfortunately, Coolsculpting isn’t used to treat cellulite. However, it is good for reducing the fat in the love handles, abdomen, and back. (Jeffrey E. Schreiber, MD, FACS, Baltimore Plastic Surgeon)

In a word, no.

Zeltiq really operates by freezing fat cells. Cellulite is a function of fibrous septi that cause dimpling. Zeltiq does not affect this. (Cameron Rokhsar, MD, FAAD, New York Dermatologic Surgeon)

CoolSculpting & Cellulite

CoolSculpting is an effective technique for reducing isolated fat deposits. Patients should plan on two and possibly three treatments in order to achieve satisfactory results. Although there are reported cases of skin tightening, the procedure itself is designed only for fat reduction.

CoolSculpting Is The Targeting Of Fat Cells Exclusively

Some of the irregularities associated with cellulite may or may not be improved. If you are considering CoolSculpting, your goal should be reduction of isolated fat deposits. You should not expect smoothing out of the usual surface irregularities associated with cellulite. (John J. Edney, MD, Omaha Plastic Surgeon)

CoolSculpiting -Not Effective for Cellulite Eliminating

Even very thin women can be bothered by cellulite. It can be caused by several factors; genetics, weight loss or gain, thickness of the skin, and vertical fibrous bands that allow the fat to push upward and become visible on the surface of the skin.

CoolSculpting is great for reducing isolated areas of fat for those who are in great shape, as it sounds like you are, but it won’t effect the cellulite. Cellulaze is the best long-term solution for reducing cellulite.

Fat & Cellulite Reduction

All other treatments are temporary and need to be repeated to remain effective. Cellulaze breaks up those fibrous bands that push the fat up, helps thicken the skin and is able to help smooth the surface of the skin. (Steven L. Ringler, MD, FACS, Grand Rapids Plastic Surgeon)

Coolsculpting (Zeltiq) does not reduce Cellulite

Unfortunately Coolsculpting does not reduce cellulite. The only FDA approved surgical treatment for Cellulite reduction is Cellulaze.

With a three step process, while you are awake and through a small incision I can reduce the cellulite by treating the little fat bulges, the septae that pull down the skin creating a mattress appearance and the skin that has lost its strength.

Very fit and trim women have cellulite. You can find a Plastic Surgeon who performs Cellulaze on the Cynosure.com website. (Laurie A. Casas, MD, FACS, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)

CoolSculpting Not For Cellulite

CoolSculpting is used to remove fat cells from localized areas such as the abdomen, hips, inner thighs, and arms. Cellulaze is a newer technology that will actually breakdown the underlying structures causing cellulite. I would recommend this technology for cellulite, and coolsculpting for patients who want volume reduction. (Jeffrey W. Hall, MD, Austin Plastic Surgeon)

CoolSculpting is wonderful for localized areas of excess fat, but it is not an ideal treatment for cellulite. (Michael Law, MD, Raleigh-Durham Plastic Surgeon)

Can CoolSculpting help with cellulite?

The answer is no. You see fat reduction but unfortunately there is no skin tightening or cellulite reduction provided. You could however get Cellulaze. We have seen such dramatic results with Cellulaze. It is minimally invasive and short downtime. (Frederick Lester, MD, Dallas Plastic Surgeon)

Cellulaze Best for Cellulite Reduction

Cellulaze is the only minimally invasive laser procedure designed to attack the structure of cellulite beneath your skin.

It delivers longer-lasting results after only one short treatment. Cellulaze is backed by many years of clinical research.

Studies have shown it increases the thickness of your skin by 25% and the elasticity of your skin by 29%—significant claims that haven’t been made by any other treatments.

Thicker and more elastic skin can help flatten and smooth the skin surface to improve the appearance of cellulite.

In addition, 93% of patients surveyed were satisfied or very satisfied with their results at one year post their procedure, and all would recommend the Cellulaze cellulite laser treatment to a friend. (Daniel Shapiro, MD, Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon)
