Answer Snippet
Is this swelling after neck lipo normal?
Swollen neck after liposuction
May 8, 2018
Swelling after liposuction is standard. In fact, immediately after neck liposuction we sit our patients upright to ensure adequate fat removal. At this point there is typically very little swelling. Then, within days, the swelling begins and takes a week or so to come down again. We prepare our patients for these swings as it can be disconcerting to see an immediate improvement and then a worsening.
Should Ulthera Be Painful?
Discomfort, medications and side effects associated with Ultherapy
Mar 21, 2018
It is true, there is discomfort with Ultherapy. Many patients have undergone the treatment with just Ibuprofen, (myself included) and have done quite well. Other patients will need a little more. For those patients we offer medication as an option, so the procedure is more easily tolerated. These patients will require a ride home. There are also techniques and adjustments that can be made to improve a patient's comfort level. Once the treatment is complete, it is not uncommon...
How Long Does It Take to See Ulthera Results?
The time it takes to see Ultherapy results
Mar 21, 2018
Ultherapy works gradually because it is promoting new collagen growth. Unlike fillers, results are not immediate. It will take time for new collagen growth to occur. This process can take 2 to 3 months with final result around 6 months. Be patient the benefits are worth it, building up your foundation is key to a more youthful looking you!
How Long Do the Results of an Ultherapy Procedure Last?
Ultherapy results will vary based on each patient
Mar 21, 2018
Ultherapy works by stimulating the growth of new collagen in multiple depths of the skin. How we age has a lot to do with the elements we are exposed to, skin type ect. Patients treated with Ultherapy will see lifting gradually as the collagen builds over 2-3 months and can continue to improve up to 6 months. Once you achieve your full result, the normal aging process continues, your results will not wear off or suddenly disappear. Think of it as turning the clock back a bit. To...
CoolSculpting or Lipo for upper arms?
Coolsculpting vs Lipo for the upper arms
Mar 13, 2018
Hello cleogirl33,
Great Question! Coolsculpting is a great way to remove fat from problem areas like the upper arms. One treatment would eliminate 20 to 25 percent of the fat cells in the treated area. Some people will need two treatments. These fat cells are gone forever, they do not come back, although you could in theory regain the fat, if in those treated areas the remaining fat cells were to expand significantly. In practice, most patients tend to be inspired by their...
Light Botox has left some faint lines in my '11s' - would simply upping the dose in the area knock the
11s still present after botox treatment
Aug 31, 2017
Hello, and thank you for the great question. This is a very common question. Botox can reduce the depth and appearance of the 11s depending on your personal response and dose injected. Regardless, if the 11s are deep, the first treatment may not eliminate them completely, but with each subsequent treatment the appearance should continue to improve. Combining botox with microneedling, laser resurfacing, an/or small amounts of filler can further soften lines and offer a more immediate effect...
Is blistering normal after CoolSculptng?
Blistering After Coolsculpting
Aug 31, 2017
I am sorry you have had this experience. We have performed many coolsculpting treatments and have never seen blistering afterwards. I would recommended returning to the provider who performed your treatment for further evaluation.
Could exercise and good diet prevent PAH after Coolsculpting?
Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia after Coolsculpting
Aug 31, 2017
PAH is very rare and studies have shown its occurrence to be 1/20,000, with a sightly higher prevalence in men than women. With that being said, maintaining a healthy diet and exercise program before and after coolsculpting can help you get the best possible results from your treatment, and is recommended. There is no indication that diet and exercise will prevent or reduce the chance of developing PAH.
Doxycycline and CoolSculpting. Will it affect my results?
Doxycycline and Coolsculpting
Aug 31, 2017
Doxycycline is a common antibiotic used for the treatment of acne. Although it has mild anti-inflammatory properties, there is no evidence demonstrating any effects on the outcome of your coolsculpting treatment.
What happens to fat consumed after CoolSculpting?
Cool sculpting and fat distribution
Mar 30, 2017
This is a great question. With a consistent weight and diet, coolsculpting is a great option to target stubborn areas of fat that do not respond to diet and exercise. Cool sculpting destroys fat cells but does not eliminate all the subcutaneous fat within the treatment site. While you will see a reduction of fat and improved shape in the treated areas, the pattern of weight gain for your body should remain the same as it was prior to coolsculpting. The difference will be in the appearance...
Can a patient still receive lip injections while being on their menstral cycle?
Menses and Lip Augmentation
Mar 30, 2017
Thank you for your question. There is no contraindication to receiving lip injections or any other injectable while menstruating. You may experience a slight increase in discomfort while on your cycle, but otherwise there is no cause for concern. It is always in your best interest to address all your questions and concerns with your injector to determine the best treatment plan for your individual needs.
I was injected botox incorrectly when it will gradually wear off?
Botox Treatment
Mar 30, 2017
Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you did not have to end result you were hoping for. Unfortunately there is no way to remove the botox, however, it is temporary and the results typically begin to wear off between 2-4 months. It may be worth it to request a more conservative approach in the future to potentially prevent a less than desirable outcome while leaving room for touch ups as needed.
I just got Botox for the first time 7 days ago. One eye is very puffy and small and the other one has
Botox Correction
Mar 30, 2017
It can take 2 weeks to see the full effect of botox. The peaking of the left brow can be corrected with a small dose injected above the peak to give your brows a more symmetrical appearance until the botox wears off in roughly 3-4 months. It's hard to tell if there is ptosis of the right brow without a before photo. I would suggest following up with your injector or seeking an expert in aesthetic injectables.
CoolSculpting in pregnancy?
Coolsculpting During Pregnancy
Mar 30, 2017
This is a great question. Coolsculpting targets the fat layer of the skin and does not penetrate deeper organs. However, studies on pregnant and nursing women have not been performed to prove its safety during pregnancy, therefore I would not recommend this treatment at this time. It may also be to your benefit to have coolsculpting after your pregnancy as weight changes may affect your results.
Decided to go with the coolsculpting for chin area, but...
Judging chin for coolsculpting
Feb 28, 2017
This is a great question. The answer lies in careful examination of the chin/neck area. I use some of the same techniques for assessing potential chin Coolsculpting patients as I use when assessing folks for potential liposuction. Is the problem mainly fat or is it more laxity or perhaps a mix of both? Coolsculpting does best in patients with soft bulging or poochy fat. It is not a tightening device. When the skin is...
