I tell my patients to consume protein to heal.  The reason that your PS may tell you to avoid protein shakes is that he may be concerned with the additives in the shakes.  There are many organic and natural products available that list the ingredients so you can tailor your shakes accordingly.  Please discuss with your PS.  Good luck with your recovery!

Good question.  Many factors will influence this outcome but some of the major ones are: body habitus/BMI, pre-operative location, amount of loose skin, delayed healing, re-operation, number of prior surgeries, prior surgery on the umbilicus (ex. umbilical hernia repair), current hernia... to name a few.  Good luck with your surgery and discuss your expectations with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

Hello Jstaker,Congratulations on your weight loss.  Coolsculpting is a terrific solution for targeted fat reduction in the trunk, legs, chin.  It does not help with sagging skin.  Your best option may be a brachiplasty and yes it can be done in the office in select cases.  Please see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and discuss your concerns.Good luck with finding the right solution for you!

Hello,I agree with your frustration and being a mom myself I can relate.The best options would be to do a combined breast reduction and abdominoplasty but only if you have decided that you are done with child bearing.  Liposuction will help but will not give you a prebaby abdominal wall.Good luck with your decision!

Hello.  Thank-you for the serial images.  21days post-op pictures look great.  Your breast are still settling after surgery and this process takes several weeks.  It is not unusual to have changes after surgery for several months.  Please contact your surgeons office and have them evaluate you if the rib pain persists.  Good luck with your recovery!

Common concern is the right weight for a tummy tuck/abdominoplasty procedure.  I do not have a set weight criteria but I do have a definite criteria for your health status and ability to withstand this operation.  The answers can be obtained by a thorough review of your medications and your health history.  Please find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and review your history and get a thorough exam.  This is more important than any specific number on the scale.Good luck!

Great recovery! I recommend a topical antibiotic ointment, gauze and tape while there is drainage to be changed twice a day.  Once drainage stops you can stop the dressings too.  Have a great day!
