My practice was one of the first in the world to have diVa, It is a safe and effective treatment for vaginal laxity, stress urinary incontinence and it improves vaginal lubrication. A single-use quartz dilator is inserted in the vagina so that the actual laser handpiece isn't touching vaginal tissue and it is able to deliver a clean "shot" each time. Unlike some of the other lasers on the market, the laser handpiece has to be autoclaved after each use.

Yes, a topical anesthetic gel is applied to make the treatment comfortable. Most report little-to-no discomfort and state that it feels like a "knocking" sensation with more intensity in certain areas. We often treat the labia as well, to increase collagen. Without a topical numbing cream, the treatment would most likely be too uncomfortable.
