Treatment for melasma?
Facial melasma
Dec 6, 2016
Thank you for your question. Melasma is caused by genetic factors, hormones, and sun exposure. The most important treatment is to wear sunscreen 24/7 and to reapply in the daytime. Even indoor light can worsen melasma. It would also be helpful to wear a broad brimmed hat when outside. If you are taking any medications with hormones (birth control pills, etc) or if you are pregnant that can also worsen it. There are multiple topical medications that can help like hydroqinone cream,...
Melasma darker after having Juvederm done in tear troughs. What's best way to get rid of
Dark Skin Under the Eyes after Juvederm
Nov 14, 2016
Thank you for your question. There are multiple possible causes for the color change under your eyes.

1. Juvederm is not the best filler for the tear trough. I recommend Resylane or Belotero. Juvederm can cause a bluish tint under the skin if injected superficially called the Tyndall effect. Hyaluronidase injections could dissolve the Juvederm if the Tyndall effect is a concern.

2. Melasma is common on the face. I recommend wearing a high spf sunscreen 24/7...

changed mole in pregnancy
Mole in Pregnancy
Oct 31, 2016
Thank you for your question. It is common for moles to change in pregnancy. It is difficult to tell from the picture if a biopsy is needed or not. I recommend keeping the appointment with your doctor to have a closer examination in person. I wish you the best!
Mole removal, Infected?
Mole Removal
Oct 27, 2016
Thank you for your question. The appearance of your biopsy site is normal. Signs of infection would include pain, swelling, and tenderness. If you develop these signs of infection I recommend for you to contact the doctor who completed your biopsy and inform them of your symptoms. If you do not have these symptoms I recommend to apply a thin layer of vaseline twice daily until the area has healed.
Is there any way to get rid of one specific milia forever?
Milia on the cheek
Oct 20, 2016
Thank you for your question. It is possible to permanently remove a milia. A dermatologist can use an 11 blade to nick the surface of the milia and then push the cyst out. it is considered cosmetic so insurance does not pay for it. However, it is a quick and easy procedure. I wish you the best!
Small bumps on my nose? Is it removeable? And what is it?
Bumps on the nose
Oct 17, 2016
Thank you for your question. It is hard to tell from the photo but this could be a type of rosacea called rhinophyma or it could be multiple fibrous papules. Both conditions are normal. It is possible to smooth the texture of the nose with ablative laser treatments or smaller areas could be treated surgically by shaving the bumps flat with the surrounding skin. After treatment the bumps may recur over time. I wish you the best!
Is it a mole or a blister?
Lesion on the back
Oct 13, 2016
Thank you for your question. It is hard to tell from the photo if it is a mole or something else. I recommend for you to see a dermatologist to have a closer examination. I wish you the best!
