Generally, SculpSure heated fat tissue resolves over 6-10 weeks.  By the end of six weeks, we retreat the area if patient desires further reduction.   In summary, 6 weeks to see a difference and time between treatments.

This treatment is very safe and has been designed to keep the epidermis from heating to a detrimental level.  The heat is from a 1060nm laser which is directed to the fat cells.  Our bodies naturally remove this disrupted fat and has no known adverse effects.

Generally speaking, we avoid treatment overlying any large scars.  The device allows us to easily attach and accommodate to unusual body contours.  The procedure is not promoted for skin tightening but there likely is some improvement.  The younger your skin, the more tightening you can expect.  Overall, SculpSure is very safe with no major risks.

Many find the treatment to be very tolerable but can illicit some very warm to hot sensations intermittently with some cooling periods.  Afterwards, the area may be a bit sore for a few days but won't limit your activity.  We do offer patients to take some ibuprofen right before the procedure if they have a lower pain threshold.   We always have patients return for a second treatment or area which is a great sign that patients find it a very tolerable procedure.
Who is the ideal candidate for Sculpsure?

Most patients will qualify as a candidate for SculpSure.  This 25 minute treatment generally reduces the fat in that treatment zone by 25%.  The treatment field is best used, however, for areas such as the love handles and thinner abdomens. We can treat any body part and find great improvement when we do 2 treatments about 6 weeks apart.

We have had excellent results from combining treatments of coolsculpting along with Thermismooth. Coolsculpting will freeze and kill the fat cells. Thermismooth helps melt fat and tighten the skin. Both used together have been very well received by patients. Consider Thermismooth as the fine tuning from bulk fat reduction of the Coolsculpting. FuturaFit is also a modality we use to help sculpt the body.

Your description sounds like you may have some compromised skin barrier contributing to the redness. Be sure to use a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil or CeraVe. You may also try CeraVe lotion for your face twice daily to see if that helps. I have found Skinceuticals Redness Relief to be helpful. If you have visible blood vessels then having several IPL treatments can help those improve.Good luck with your wedding planning!

My goodness, as a mother my heart goes out to you! Keep the wound moist with your triple antibiotic ointment at all times. He may need a non-stick bandage to wear at night. I have found the prescription Biafine to help hasten recovery of burn wounds. Then, in about 2 weeks I would start using SkinMedica's scar gel. We carry that in our office as do many other dermatologists. Keep the sun off of it for next 4 months!!

A simple shave removal of your mole would be the best place to start. That procedure usually runs around $150. It will flatten the mole but the pigment will remain. If you desire to get rid of all the pigment then a small elliptical excision can be done with a linear scar about 3x length of the mole. That type of procedure usually costs around $500.

These scars appear to mostly from past acne. From what I can see, I would do some spot treatments with Fraxel laser and fill in the depressions with Restylane or Juvederm. We get excellent results using Fraxel to help minimize large pores. The creams will not do much although I often suggest patients use a retinol product such as SkinMedica at night to help with acne, texture, and aging. The Dermapen may work as well but will have to do more treatments and will take longer to see improvement. If you were in my office and the mole looked like your picture, I would have biopsied it. True moles will not freeze off. Are you sure you saw a dermatologist? I often see other non-dermatologists treat moles like this. Consider going to AAD.org and get a second opinion in a month from a dermatologist.
