Coolsculpting Submental Fat
Submental CoolSculpting Results
Treating the chin with CoolSculpting is just as permanent as any other region. Once the cells die and are expelled from the body, they will not return.
Just be aware that if any weight is gained, the fat will accumulate in other areas . (Richard J. Wassermann, MD, MPH, Columbia Plastic Surgeon)
CoolMini for Double Chin
CoolSculpting is a great treatment because it kills fat cells permanently. Results are essentially permanent as long as you maintain your overall weight. You will of course continue to age as normal and might find that eventually the skin under the chin will become more lax – as it would regardless of whether or not you had CoolSculpting – but the pocket of fat in the double chin would essentially be reduced for good. (Frank Lista, MD, Toronto Plastic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting On Double Chin Results
Much like CoolSculpting done on other areas of the body, results to the double chin can be permanent as long as you maintain a healthy diet and an active lifestyle and don’t gain too much weight.
Most people need 2-3 treatments to the double chin for the best results. (Michael A. Zadeh, MD, FACS, Sherman Oaks General Surgeon)
Mini Cool Sculpting for chin
If you are decided between Cool Sculpting vs Kybella, it all depends on how much time and effort you are willing to put into the procedure. Cool Sculpting does not require anesthesia, you will not have an incision and there is no down time where activities are limited.
Kybella on the other hand has a series of needle sticks, a local anesthetic and more downtime that you will have to plan for. Kybella also has more swelling and hardness in the treated area than Cool Sculpting.
They are both great options and work well for the double chin, depending on where your fat is located. CoolSculpting involves no needles or bruising, and can treat the areas more lateral while Kybella treats the fat in the midline but cannot be injected more laterally.
Cost is certainly lower with CoolSculpting, if you are a good candidate for it, because often only one treatment session is required. (Melanie L. Petro, MD, Birmingham Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Fat is Fat. CoolSculpting works great.
We now have five year follow-up for CoolSculpting on our own patients. All are looking good. They were treated for waist, love handles, and tummies. Ffat is fat, CoolSculpting results are as permanent as any form of liposuction. (Douglas J. Key, MD, Portland Dermatologic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting causes permanent fat loss
It should result in a 20 to 25 percent reduction in fat of the area that is treated and it is permanent. Both the CoolMini and Kybella can be used to treat these areas. (Robert Whitfield, MD, Austin Plastic Surgeon)
The results are permanent. Having said that however, I am preferring Kybella for double chin fat removal. I like the results – they are consistent and the cost is in line with Coolsculpting. (Richard Zienowicz, MD, Providence Plastic Surgeon)
In the largest study done on CoolMini for submental fat, the CoolMini device was placed at the midline. There was approximately a 20% fat reduction after 1-2 treatments done 6 weeks apart. The most common technique uses the midline approach. (Jill C. Fichtel, MD, Columbus Dermatologic Surgeon)
Treatments are individualized for each patient. One of the benefits of the coolmini is that it can be safely applied centrally or on the sides of the neck to target fat in these areas. Whether it is the neck, abdomen, love handles or other area, it is not uncommon to have overlapping treatments, especially if those overlapping areas possess the maximum amount of fatty tissue. (Adam J. Mamelak, MD, Austin Dermatologic Surgeon)
Chin area
The Coolsculpting procedure can be effective for the submental area of the upper neck. The FDA recently approved the CoolMini applicator for this problem. (Jeffrey D. Wagner, MD, Indianapolis Plastic Surgeon)
There is not really a maximum number of treatments you can have performed in a given area. If you have enough fat to pinch and fit into the applicator, then you should be able to derive a benefit from the treatment.
It would be helpful to see some of your before and after pictures and to know how far out from your procedures you are. (Josh Waltzman, MD, MBA, Long Beach Plastic Surgeon)
You can separate cool mini procedures by about 6 weeks
The usual number of treatments I recommend for the double chin is 2-3 treatments (depending on the size of the double chin). Most people need 2. If the last time you had it was over a year ago- you can easily have another one. (Sameer Bashey, MD, Beverly Hills Dermatologic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting often requires multiple applicators to be used to get contouring and a few treatments. If the fat is there, you should receive about a 20%-25% fat reduction per treatment. (Jason Emer, MD, Los Angeles Dermatologic Surgeon)
Chin coolsculpting cost
The cost for treating the chin area ranges from 800-1000 per treatment time. Often two treatments are recommended. We have kybella as well the Cool Mini chin applicator. My preference is to treat chin fat with the Cool Mini applicator.
There is much less down time. In our office, we have had employees that have done a head to head comparison with Kybella and Coolsculpting, Kybella causing about two weeks of swelling and it is somewhat painful. (Pramit Malhotra, MD, Ann Arbor Plastic Surgeon)
The cost of CoolSculpting varies from practice to practice. You can go to CoolSculpting.com to find a provider near you. I recommend you schedule a consultation to find out more information and determine if you are a candidate for treatment. (Carmen Kavali, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
One or two sessions of the CoolMini typically falls within your budget however pricing varies based on the number of sessions recommended. I would recommend an in person consultation to determine if you are a candidate. (Daniel J. Ritacca, MD, Chicago Oculoplastic Surgeon)
I believe you would not be happy with cool sculpting under your chin. It treats pinchable fat but does not tighten skin which you appear to have. If you are open to a possible surgical intervention please seek an in person consultation with a board certified surgeon in your area. (Robert Heck, MD, FACS, Columbus Plastic Surgeon)
