Coolsculpting Knees
CoolSculpting can be performed on the inner knees for excess fat. My practice has already seen wonderful results from using the CoolMini treatment applicator. (also used for treating a double chin.)
CoolSculpting does not correct skin laxity or cellulite, so a proper assessment is needed to make sure CoolSculpting is truly the appropriate procedure for you. (Tina B. West, MD, Washington Dermatologic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting is an effective treatment for the excess fat above the knees and for the inner and outer thighs.
CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis to destroy the subcutaneous fat cells and to sculpt the body. It is best to have a consultation with a certified CoolSculpting specialist to see if you are a good candidate for this procedure. (Jeffrey M. Hartog, DMD, MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
Cryolipolysis is the process by which CoolSculpt diminishes fat deposits. It is an effective treatment for localized fatty deposits and with the arrival of the Cool Mini, can be used to treat the fat that can be found just above the knees.
The hips can also be treated by CoolSculpting, but depending on where the fat is located, SculpSure can also be considered.
The most important thing that a prospective patient should consider is who they are seeing for the treatment.
It takes experience with all of the various non-surgical and surgical fat reduction modalities that are available to assess you accurately and suggest the best treatment for you. Some research done in advance will help you receive the best treatment possible. (Isaac Starker, MD, Morristown Plastic Surgeon)
it is possible to treat the inner knees with CoolSculpting. The new CoolMini applicator can be used to treat smaller fat bulges, the inner knees being one of them.
Check with a Certified CoolSculpting practice and a board certified plastic surgeon to see if you are a candidate to use CoolSculpting on your inner knees. (Jeffrey M. Hartog, DMD, MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
CoolSculpt Inner knee
CoolSculpting can be used to reduce excess fat on the inner knee. Consult with a CoolSculpting trained physician, who can properly evaluate you and explaine the benefits and risks of the procedure. (Keith Durante, MD, FACS, New York General Surgeon)
CoolSculpting and inner thighs
While the inner thighs is an off label indication, the inner thighs can be treated safely by an experienced provider. (Shaun Patel, MD, Miami Physician)
Coolsculpting and Results versus Hi Definition Liposuction
CoolSculpting can be performed on the inner knees. CoolSculpting improves the fat, 20% per treatment, and often requires multiple applicators to be used to get contouring and a few treatments. For contouring, sculpting and skin tightening, I suggest a VASER Hi definition procedure.
Please consult with an expert for treatment options. (Jason Emer, MD, Los Angeles Dermatologic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting can work along the inner knees. Please consult with a Certified CS Team to use the correct applicator to obtain your best results. (Dean P. Kane, MD, FACS, Baltimore Plastic Surgeon)
The CoolMini adapter is able to fit on a variety of body parts including the chin, bra rolls under the arm, as well as the fat around the knees.
The key is that the adapter must have enough fat to get a good seal. Otherwise the machine will not get good suction around the area.
My best advice is to have a consultation at a certified coolsculpting center near you to see if you are a good candidate. (Josh Waltzman, MD, MBA, Long Beach Plastic Surgeon)
Coolsculpting can treat the fat above the knee. However, to be sure it is fat that needs to be treated and not wrinkles, you would want to have a consultation with a professional in your area. (Michalynn Farley, MD, Redding Physician)
inner knees are a common area for liposuction and sometime I use liposonix there, a non invasive procedure. The only issue is that knees sometimes have redundant skin that limits the amount of fat that can be removed. (Reps B. Sundin, MD, Washington DC Plastic Surgeon)
How is Coolsculpting for fat removal from knees/calves?
CoolSculpting is a great treatment for removing unwanted areas of fatty tissue without the need for surgery, needles, anesthesia or downtime. The procedure uses suction to pull the skin and fat away from the warm body temperature and cooling plates to decrease the temperature in that area.
After one hour of cooling approximately 20% of the fat cells in that area will be permanently damaged. The damaged fat cells will be removed over the next 3-4 months. The most common areas we treat are the abdomen, flanks (“love handles”), low back, bra fat, and medial thighs.
Because the device uses suction to pull the skin and fat away from the body, I have not been able to treat the calves and knees. (William J. Vinyard, MD, FACS, Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting for knees/calves
CoolSculpting is not FDA approved for fat reduction from the knees or calves. It is possible to sometimes treat a non-FDA approved area, but you would need to be examined to determine if that might be possible. (Michael I. Echavez, MD, San Francisco Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Coolsculpting is an excellent treatment that works on removing unwanted fat. With that being said, wrinkles don’t necessarily improve from getting a Coolsculpting treatment. There are other options such as radio frequency treatments like ThermiSmooth or ThermiTight that could help improve the appearance of wrinkles by heating up the tissue and promoting rebuild of collagen.
I would recommend you have a consultation with a board certified physician to see what options are available. (Steven Swengel, MD, Los Gatos Dermatologic Surgeon)
Treat knee wrinkles with Profound radiofrequency microneedling
CS will only remove the fat and this may worsen the wrinkled appearance, depending upon what the area looks like. Profound radiofrequency microneedling provides skin tightening, increased collagen & elastin content in the dermis/skin, and may be a better choice of technologies. (Vaishali B. Doolabh, MD, FACS, Jacksonville Plastic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting can help remove the fat above the knee. That being said, if it is “wrinkles” you are concerned about, that may be a loose skin issue rather than fat. It is best to have an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon so that they can tell you what the main issue is and to see what your options are. (Jeffrey M. Hartog, DMD, MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
Your knee area may be improved safely with Coolsculpting if…
At this point, with the newly available applicators and the experience and knowledge we have gained over the years with Coolsculpting, I do think that it is safe and effective in many previously untreatable areas like the inner knees.
Whether or not you as an individual are a good candidate for this, however would require a careful evaluation by a Coolsculpting Center of Excellence to determine. (Armando Soto, MD, FACS, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
Cryolipolysis is not the same as Coolsculpting in all cases
There are knock off machines that use similar technology but aren’t Coolsculpting. I can’t comment on these machines. However, the new CoolMini attachment can be used in very small areas to treat fat with the Coolsculpting device. (Steven F. Weiner, MD, Panama City Facial Plastic Surgeon)
Coolsculpting above the knee
Coolsculpting above the knee (most often with the CoolMini) can work quite well for helping to eliminate some excess fat from that area but as a treatment solely to remove or improve wrinkled skin and improve texture may not be the best.
Unlike most areas, removing fat from an area like the knees may actually make the wrinkles appear worse. To determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure, consider a face to face consultation with a provider with a great deal of Coolsculpting experience. (Grant Stevens, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)
Coolsculpting above the knees
Coolsculpting is actually great to treat the fat above the knees, however it may not do much for the wrinkles or any skin laxity in that area. For that, its prob best to followup with a plastic surgeon for options. (Shamim Shakibai, MD, Los Angeles Physician)
