Post CoolSculpting Precautions

There is nothing you cannot do after CoolSculpting is performed.

Although you may be sore (this is fairly common), you will not change the results if you are active the next day.

I have had body builders at my practice that have worked out for 4 hours prior to their CS appointment and 4 hours after their appointment=, the same day, without any complications.

Enjoy the fact that CS has no downtime! (Tianna Tsitsis, MD, Mount Vernon Physician)

Pain after Coolsculpting & Results–Add Radiofrequency, Thermage, Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, VASER

Pain can be variable, and the soreness after day 1 is completely normal. If pain persists, this can be treated with oral neurontin.

And yes, you are allowed to move around and work out. We find you get a better outcome IF you go exercise right after.

For best results with Coolsculpting, I recommend a combination approach of adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. (Jason Emer, MD, Los Angeles Dermatologic Surgeon)

Do I need to be careful with the treated area after CoolSculpting? 1 day post op.

Post Coolsculpting treatment there are no restrictions and you should be able to do what your body allows you to.

If you can work through the pain go ahead it should not harm you unless you have swelling and bruising you may have to have an examination by your board certified doctor. (Himansu Shah, MD, Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon)

One of the best things about CoolSculpting is zero downtime. In fact, we encourage our patients to remain active, return to work, gym, etc. We have found that to help with the tenderness or soreness. (Mark S. Wilson, MD, Corpus Christi Anesthesiologist)

Coolsculpting

There is no downtime required after treatment. You will feel some discomfort which will lesson over a few weeks. Its normal to feel some discomfort after the procedure but you cannot damage anything by being active. (Philip Solomon, MD, FRCS, Toronto Facial Plastic Surgeon)

No need to be careful with the treated area after CoolSculpting, even 1 day post op

It is perfectly fine to resume your normal daily activities right after CoolSculpting treatments, including working out. Discomfort after CoolSculpting vary in intensity from one patient to another and is expected but will get better soon. (Alain Michon, MD, Ottawa Physician)

No Effect on Treated Areas

Carrying on as usual, or even exercising, will not impact your treatment results. Do what you feel up to doing. Pain may limit what you do, but that won’t effect the end results. (Garry K. Kim, MD, Pasadena Internist)

No worries….you won’t effect anything

After the treatment is complete you can’t do anything to effect the treated cells. The frozen cells are already being eliminated and no amount of working out, working or relaxing will do anything to change that.

Soreness is not uncommon and it’s perfectly fine to resume all of your regular life activities. Push through-this will pass. (Grant Stevens, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)

Post-CoolSculpting

You are not required to have any bed rest after CoolSculpting. It is normal to feel sore, numbness and itchiness after Coolsculpting. The abdomen is one of the more sensitive areas. You cannot hurt the results with your daily activities.

You will feel sore when you get back to working out, but do as much as you can. Around day three is when patients feel it the worst. If you feel like the soreness gets unbearable, call your treating CoolSculping specialist. (Robert G. Aycock, MD, FACS, Bay Area Plastic Surgeon)
