Answer Snippet
What would cause red, swollen (looks like I've been beaten up) eyes after getting Dysport injections?
Dysport and red eyes
Aug 11, 2017
It is very unlikely that this is related to Dysport considering you have had it in the past without any problem. You should follow up with a physician for a formal evaluation. You mentioned you moved recently before getting the injections, which suggest you might want to investigate environmental factors as the cause of the problem but most important is that you see a physician in person. Good luck.

Are there areas for Botox/filler that require less expertise than others where I can save by using a les
Botox and Filler cost and expertise
Aug 11, 2017
Thanks for the question which opens a Pandora’s box of answers. To first directly answer your question; yes, there are some facial areas that are less likely to have negative side effects such as glabella frown lines (11’s between the brows) nor would one expect negative outcomes in the crow’s feet. The forehead which is a common area of treatment can have unwanted changes in brow positioning since it is the same muscles that cause both forehead wrinkles as well as lifting the e...
Botox in masseter slimming one side faster? Is it possible that it is taking effect at different rates?
Botox and masseter muscles for lower face reshaping
Aug 11, 2017
The first thing to note is that you should allow 10-14 days to see the effects of any Botox injection. Second it is important to note that the face slimming benefit of Botox is gained from the potential long term atrophy of the masseter muscles and not directly related to the short term relaxation from Botox. It is unlikely that the effects are taking place at different rates but in any case it is too soon to evaluate that possibility. There are several factors such as injection...
Botox 1-2 units under eye wrinkles 7 days - any difference? Help
Botox under eyes
Aug 9, 2017
You should allow 10-14 days before fully evaluating the effects of Botox, however 1-2 units is most likely an inadequate dose to give the visible results that you desire. After allowing the appropriate time you should be re-evaluated by your injector and the needle marks you noted should have resolved. Good luck.

Can you do a Ultherapy facial on a lady who is breastfeeding lady?
Ulthera and breastfeeding
Aug 8, 2017
Ulthera specifically notes that no studies have been done on the use of Ulthera on breastfeeding females. I suggest to error on the side of caution and wait until breastfeeding has ended before treating with Ulthera.
I had CoolSculpting done June 21st in right and left abdomen and under breasts
CoolSculpting and persisting pain
Aug 8, 2017
Six weeks after CoolSculpting treatment may be way too soon to evaluate the results. You should re-evaluate the results 3-4 months after treatment. However, you sound like you are having significant pain that is persisting for over 6 weeks and I suggest that you see your provider to evaluate the etiology of the persisting pain. While 6 weeks may be an adequate time interval for a subsequent treatment I would suggest you wait until the pain issue is resolved before...
My 11s just won't go away! The issue is a pucker. The 11s are not etched into the skin as of yet
Botox for Glabelar 11's lines
Aug 8, 2017
The 11’s or glabella frown lines may require a more significant dose than you have received in the past. I generally start with a dose of 20-24 units and occasionally it has taken over 40 units to see a result. Without knowing the placement of injections, it is impossible to suggest what can be changed to obtain your desired outcome. I don’t quite understand why you were receiving injections high in the forehead since this is generally not the target area for your pro...
Botox ruined my skin and cheek muscle, is there a fix for this?
Botox for masseter facial sculpting
Aug 7, 2017
The effects of Botox wear off (on average) in 3-4 months although some people still see the effects at 6 months. I am confident that you Botox effects will wear off and you face will return to its pre-Botox appearance. I suggest that you see your physician and get his/her expert advice. Sorry you had an undesirable outcome and wish you the best of luck going forward.

Can Botox fix what appears to be a droopy eyelid? Price for treatment?
Botox and brow elevation
Aug 3, 2017
Thanks for the pictures. You can get a small amount of lift of your lateral brow with Botox and you can also get some lift from the medial brow with injections in the appropriate location. Did you have any Botox before these pictures? I ask because it appears as if you may have had some Botox in the forehead causing you left brow to be lower than your right brow. It would be helpful to know if you are trying to correct the results of other cosmetic injections or a natural...
Botox and the cheek fat pad? What happened? What can be done to put the fat pad back in place?
Botox undesired results
Aug 3, 2017
I suggest that you see your physician. The effects of Botox would have worn off by nine months so it is unlikely that your current problem is associated with the Botox injections that you describe.
What do you recommend to fill the deep line that is in between my eyes? Botox has not been very effectiv
Fillers and brow furrows
Aug 3, 2017
Think of skin like paper, if you don’t fold it then it will not get a crease. Botox prevents folding and in turn prevents the formation of a crease. In your picture, the crease has already formed and now requires a soft gel filler to fill in the space created by the repetitive folding of the skin. While a filler would help reduce the depth of the crease you would still need Botox to prevent folding of the skin. Laser resurfacing would also be an acceptable a...
I'd like to smooth the lines in my forehead but keep the movement. Is botox the best option?
Botox natural look
Aug 3, 2017
The inhibition of movement is directly related to dose and locations of injections. By lowering the usual dose and with appropriate placement you should be able to maintain movement and yet soften the lines. The end result is dependent on the skill of the injector. Aside from achieving your desired goal, this is how we apply Botox and yet maintain a natural look. Good luck.
Are there different brands for Botox?
Botox types
Aug 3, 2017
Botox is the Brand name belonging to a class of pharmaceuticals call neuromodulators. In the U.S. there are two competitive brands which are Xeomin and Dysport. Each of the competitive Brands (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport) are made by different companies and each purport to have some specific advantage. I generally find all the products relatively equal in efficacy. When you go to your doctor keep in mind that Botox is not the name of a procedure but rather the name of a...
I was told not to have Botox injections pre or post op because I'm having an ACL reconstruction?
Botox and surgery
Aug 2, 2017
There is no reason that I know of that suggests a prohibition to facial Botox pre or post ACL surgery and I suggest you ask your surgeon for clarification. Perhaps he/she meant that you shouldn’t have Botox immediately (within 1-2 days) before surgery as being supine or the procedure itself may put undue pressure on the injected areas of your face and facilitate migration. Good luck with the surgery.

2 weeks post op CoolSculpting. Should areas treated be red and hot to touch?
coolsculpting inflammation
Aug 2, 2017
You should call your doctor and be re-evaluated for the redness and warmth in the treated areas. These are some of the basic signs of inflammation which can be triggered by coolsculpting as a normal part of the process. However, since it is over two weeks from treatment it would be best to be evaluated in person. Good luck.
