Can CoolSculpting be used to treat inner thighs instead of a liposuction revision?
Coolsculpting
Oct 24, 2018
A consultation is definitely in order to assess your inner thighs. The “wavy” nature of them could be caused by several things, such as skin laxity, scar tissue, or uneven remaining fat. If you have remaining fat in the area, Coolsculpting can be done safely, but skin laxity could become more apparent if that is an existing issue. Next step would be an assessment with a Coolsculpting provider to determine if you are a true candidate.
Does CoolSculpting on love handles have a tightening effect on the skin?
Coolsculpting
Oct 24, 2018
Coolsculpting is FDA cleared for subcutaneous fat removal to the flank area, however it is not approved for skin tightening in that area. The only area that is FDA approved for skin tightening is under the chin.
Is 10lb gain immediately after CoolSculpting session water retention/swelling?
Coolsculpting Swelling
Oct 24, 2018
Swelling and fluid retention is a common side effect immediately after Coolsculpting, lasting approximately one to two weeks. Ten pound fluid retention would be considered significant and somewhat unusual. Waiting two weeks after your treatment to see if the weight gain diminishes is reasonable. After that , a follow up appointment with your Coolsculpting provider would be advised for an evaluation.
For discomfort and swelling after CoolSculpting can I use heat and massage?
Coolsculpting
Oct 2, 2018
Yes, we always recommend a warm Epsom salt bath to soothe the tenderness. If the area is numb and you are applying heat directly, be cautious because you don’t want to cause any burns. For swelling, wearing a compression garment such as Spanx or tight fitting exercise clothing is beneficial. It can also help with the tenderness.

Is it normal I haven’t seen any changes yet on my upper arms after CoolSculpting?
Coolsculpting
Oct 2, 2018
Coolsculpting results are seen 3-4 months after treatment, so it’s not unusual to not see any changes yet after 5 weeks. In fact, most people start to notice improvement around two months, with the full effect showing in 3-4 months. Each treatment removes 20-25% of the subcutaneous fat. Also, depending on needs and goals, you may need more than one treatment for optimal results.
Are there any knee sculpting procedures?
Coolsculpting
Sep 18, 2018
Coolsculpting can be done in the knee area to remove fat, but is not approved for skin tightening in that area. It’s best to have a Coolsculpting consultation done to assess your tissue and determine if there is skin laxity present.
Is it best to treat one area at a time?
Coolsculpting multiple areas
Sep 18, 2018
Coolsculpting multiple areas at one time is safe. The number of applications done at one time does not affect how your body processes the fat. The breakdown is a gradual process over a 3-4 month period. Most patients prefer treating multiple areas at one time to get to the desired outcome more quickly. Each application treats 20-25% at one time.
Could my appendectomy after CoolSculpting affected the results?
Coolsculpting Results
Sep 18, 2018
Hi Julie! Having surgery in the Coolsculpting treatment area should not have affected your results. If your surgery was recent, swelling may be preventing you from seeing any decrease in tissue to the area. It takes 3-4 months for your body to process the cells that were treated from Coolsculpting. Also, optimal correction may require more than one treatment.
Does CoolSculpting not work on everyone?
Coolsculpting
Sep 14, 2018
Hi! Coolsculpting typically removes 20-25% of the fat with each treatment, however; that can vary per individual. Also, the more treatments you have, the less fat there is to be treated. Because of that, the results may not be as dramatic with subsequent treatments. Before and after photos are beneficial to review 3-4 months after your treatment. Your body processes the fat slowly over the course of months, so it can be difficult to see the change, which is why photos are helpful.

Hi! Thank you for your question. Coolsculpting specifically targets fat cells, without affecting the muscles. Do non-invasive fat reducing treatments increase visceral fat like traditional lipo?
Coolsculpting
Aug 23, 2018
No, Coolsculpting does not affect the visceral fat, nor increases visceral fat after treatment. Coolscultping uses controlled cooling to target only the subcutaneous fat underneath the skin, resulting in 20-25% reduction of subcutaneous fat tissue with each treatment. Visceral fat responds to diet and exercise, and is not treatable with Coolsculpting. Visceral fat is located under the organs, which Coolsculpting does not affect or treat at all.
