Is there any contraindication in having sculptra 10/52 after the third course of voluma.
Sculptra injections following Voluma
Jan 9, 2016
Without knowing your age or seeing your photos it is difficult to give a specific answer, however, if you have already had 6 syringes of Voluma and you still need more volume and are considering Sculptra as well it may be time to consider the surgical options. A lift and/or fat transer may be more effective and longer lasting. However, I have not seen a problem with the combination of Sculptra and Voluma together. I would discussall your options with your provider to determine the best…
Will Voluma help fill out my mid face and make me look younger, or is there a better option? (photo
Voluma for the midface
Jan 9, 2016
I do use Voluma quite frequently in the midface. It is an excellent filler for that area. In looking at your photos you still have a nice amount of volume in your face, especially when you smile, so if you choose Voluma you would likely just need a conservative amount. Another consideration is using Restylane in the under eye area where to me it looks like you have more volume loss than in your mid face. Often I use Voluma and Restylane in combination. I would recommend finding a…
Should I still have lumps in my lips 8 days after Juvederm injections?
Lumps following Juvederm lip injection
Jan 9, 2016
It would be important to know how much Juvederm you had injected, whether it was Juvederm Ultra or Juvederm Ultra Plus and the technique that it was injected with. I would recommend following up with your provider to assess your specific situation. However, I always advise patients that after Juvederm in the lips you may feel firmness or small “lumps” during the first 1-2 weeks. At that point the Juvederm softens and any “lumps” typically go away. Massaging the lips 8 days after…
Is Botox for under arm dangerous?
Botox injections for sweating
Jan 9, 2016
Botox is not dangerous for injection in the axillae (armpits) for sweating. It has been FDA approved for this use for many years. It is typically injected after doing a simple starch-iodine test to determine where you are producing the most sweat. It is very effective and seems to last quite some time following the injection.
What option is best to rejuvenate my hands?
Hand rejuvenation
Jan 9, 2016
The hands, just like the face, need care and attention. Since we often neglect to put sunblock on our hands they tend to age more rapidly. My recommendations for hand rejuvenation include: Radiesse injection for volume restoration. This filler is injected under the skin of the hands to help them look more volumized and youthful. It will help mask visible veins in the hands which become more prominent as we age. For the skin of the hand I would start with topical skincare products. You need…
Can Vit C serum and Hyaluronic Acid be used together? If so, which one first, and how often?
Vitamin C and HA serum use
Jan 9, 2016
Yes you can absolutely use Vitamin C serum and HA serum together. I would recommend Vitamin C serum in the morning (it is an antioxidant which helps protect the skin from the sun, pollutants, etc). I would follow the morning application with a layer of HA serum and sunblock. In the evening it is not necessary to use the vitamin C however I would use the HA serum for moisturizing the skin at night. Other considerations for your regimen might include tretinoin, a product containing growth…
I had Juvederm 2 wks ago and my top lip is protruding like a duck bill. Will it go away or should I
Juvederm in the lips
Jun 13, 2015
You’re right that you’re top lip is out of proportion to your lower lip. Ideally the lower lip should be slightly larger than the top lip. However it is still possible for it to be residual swelling at 2 weeks. I would wait another week or two before dissolving it to see if it improves.
