CoolSculpting is a very safe and easy procedure. There shouldn’t be a problem. With that being said, you need to consult with a local physician and make sure that you go over all of your medical history so they can be sure that there won’t be any complications. (Janet Allenby, DO, Delray Beach Dermatologic Surgeon)
Because there are no medications and this is completely non-invassive I sure don’t see any problems here.
I personally have a condition called “delayed pressure urticaria” where I occassionally break out with hives from pressure (typically from elastic in clothing) and have never had any problems following Coolscultping.
There is a skin prep and disposable pad placed next to your skin, so I would just recommend that you shower after the procedure, and if either irritate you I’m sure it can be dealt with easily using over the counter products. (Stacey Folk, MD, Denver Plastic Surgeon)
No contraindication that I am aware of
I am aware of no contraindication with this procedure and allergies but it would be best to consult thoroughly with the provider before proceeding and you may want to consider pretreating with Benadryl or even a steroid dose pack afterwards. (Tom Tracey Gallaher, MD, Knoxville Plastic Surgeon)
CoolSculpting is very safe, but you will have to make sure you don’t have cold intolerance, cryoglobulinemia, or allergies to the rubber / plastic / gel that are used for the treatment. (Reza Momeni, MD FACS, Summit Plastic Surgeon)
CoolScultping should be safe for most patients with allergies. Make sure to go over you list of allergies with your provider prior to treatment. (David A. Sieber, MD, San Francisco Physician)
Do you get hives with exposure to cold?
Some people get something called “cold urticaria” (hives when they put their hand in very cold water, for example.) If you have THIS, I’d be concerned about doing the Coolsculpting. If you just have drug allergies, or, other environmental allergies (“hay fever”, etc.) (Lauren Chavez, MD, Albuquerque Physician)
