Statement: I was raised in Akron, Ohio and obtained my education throughout Ohio. I started working in the fields of engineering and project management. In 1993, I resigned from those careers and began my studies in medicine. After completing my dermatology training in 2002, I relocated and began practicing dermatology in the valley. Over the years, I have focused on providing exceptional and more immediate dermatology services. Thus, growing Affiliated Dermatology to what it is today!

Statement: Dr. Lal is a dermatologic and cosmetic surgeon passionate about treating the medical needs of his patients from different backgrounds. He is based out of the Scottsdale location. His areas of expertise include skin of color, scar revision, laser resurfacing, advanced injectable techniques, facial sculpting, and melasma. He is the only double board certified cosmetic dermatologist in the country.

She joined Affiliated Dermatology in October 2017 after working in the laser and aesthetics industry for the past six years. She graduated from The Skin and Makeup Institute, as well as The National Laser Institute in the same year of 2011. She has worked in several salons, medical spas, and laser clinics over the years and is very passionate about staying up to date with the latest techniques and technology. She recently returned to college to advance her education even further in the aesthetic industry by completing her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing by 2020.

In her spare time outside of work and school, Nikki likes being outdoors hiking, biking or swimming. She takes frequent trips to California to visit her family, friends and the beach.

Biography: Reilly Hartman originally started in the Dermatology aesthetics field in 2003. She has used and is certified with multiple platforms of laser and body contouring devices. She has also worked in two different countries during her career. Reilly is certified with the ARRA and is a certified technician with CoolSculpting. Although having worked with many devices her main focus of the past 3 plus years have been with CoolSculpting where she enjoys creating individual treatments as unique as each patient she treats.

HA fillers do last longer than stated.Sometimes we use MRI but MRIS are hard to get approved and take a long time. We are now using Ultrasound more and more.
Is this swelling filler and why would this be happening nearly two years later?

Delayed swelling after filler is a well known side effect. Even small amounts of filler can migrate down and accumulate fluid. You should see your board certified dermatologist. The eczema should be evaluated as well.
Voluma in my chin – was this a poor job? Should I go back and get more Voluma?

This might be from muscle pulling your chin down. I would discuss neuromodulators with your doctor for this area.
Coolsculpting vs other treatments to look into for my abdomen?

I think for permanent results I would consider looking into liposuction. It’s permanent and can be done safely in the office. Often times it can be cheaper if not the same cost as coolsculpting.
Bulge between eyes does not go, even with Botox. Options?

It’s hard to say if it’s muscle. Does it tense like muscle? I would try higher doses of Botox with direction insertion into the muscle. Definitely see a board certified dermatologist!
